Twins, Guardians Sit Pat At Deadline Despite AL Central Race

00:04 All right, let's dive into some of the things that didn't happen.
00:08 The American League Central, let's take a look at that division.
00:11 Right now, the Minnesota Twins are leading, Ryan.
00:14 The Cleveland made a couple of trades to sort of stay alive and
00:17 stay in this thing.
00:19 But they shipped out Josh Bell, they shipped out Aaron Savall.
00:22 You think they handled,
00:23 they said that they didn't hand the division to the Twins, but
00:26 [LAUGH] I mean, the Twins didn't do anything either.
00:29 So I guess it's the war of attrition toward the end.
00:32 >> Yeah, I mean, maybe it's fitting for the AL Central,
00:34 the two teams that are floundering around 500,
00:37 while battling for a division title, didn't do anything exciting.
00:40 You wonder how much that they look at their roster and say, okay,
00:43 well, we probably weren't gonna win in October anyway.
00:45 I mean, the Twins, I tell you what, man, I mean, I'm a big Pablo Lopez fan.
00:50 I think he's the kind of guy who can win in October.
00:53 And they have other pitchers that can do that, Sonny Gray, Kenta Medea.
00:56 These are guys that can win in October, and
00:58 the Twins I think have a better chance of actually doing something.
01:00 If they get there, I was a little surprised that they sat around the way
01:04 that they did.
01:06 We'll see what Dallas Keitel can be.
01:08 I mean, he's a guy that his last couple times in the majors or
01:12 trying to get to the majors haven't been very good.
01:15 He showed something in the minors, and I think now with Joe Ryan being out, and
01:19 that's a big blow, right?
01:20 Joe Ryan is a guy that when we talk about pitchers that can win in October,
01:24 when he's at his peak, Joe Ryan can be that guy, right?
01:27 So we'll see if Dallas Keitel has anything left in the tank.
01:32 He'll probably get a couple of chances, but the leash is not long with Keitel.
01:38 If he can be back to, they don't need him to be Cy Young,
01:41 like he was a couple years, Cy Young caliber.
01:43 They just need him to get five innings, three runs,
01:46 give us a chance to get him to later innings, and then we'll see how it works.
01:49 But yeah, it's a nice fallback, but
01:53 I don't think it's exactly what Twins fans were hoping for.
