00:00 The LTFRB recommends that motorcycle taxis be made legal as part of the pilot study.

00:08 But the LTFRB also plans to ban multi-homing or the presence of riders in a ride-hailing company.

00:17 This is the success of the Panganiban Perez.

00:23 In order to quickly reach the destination, some commuters use motorcycle taxis to get there,

00:30 especially when the traffic is heavy.

00:32 But the thousands of riders who are now crossing are just part of the pilot study.

00:37 There is still no law for motorcycle taxis.

00:41 That's why in 2019, the Congress recommended to the Department of Transportation to study this.

00:48 And the recommendation of the group that has been studying

00:51 to enact a legislation that will eventually legitimize this hubble hubble into a legitimate organization.

01:00 For us riders, it's a joy because we will be 100% legal.

01:05 It's good for our livelihood.

01:07 Three TNVS are participating in the vetting process for the study.

01:11 The pilot study showed that motorcycle taxis are profitable.

01:15 The part-time rider earns Php 9,000 per month.

01:20 The full-time rider earns Php 41,000.

01:24 But what about a former congressman who was a tricycle driver?

01:28 Passengers are stealing long rides.

01:31 In the province of Panay, that's allowed.

01:33 But not in Metro Manila because there are a lot of tricycles and jeeps in Metro Manila.

01:38 We are not against motorcycle taxis.

01:41 We just ask for the right amount because if not, we will really die.

01:48 It's now up for the House of Representatives to determine if you should legalize this or not.

01:55 According to the study, motorcycle taxis are safe.

01:59 There is also insurance for riders and passengers.

02:03 As to the crash report, it is less than 1%.

02:06 But when an accident happens, sometimes it tends to be fatal, especially if they are side-swiped.

02:14 Multihoming or becoming a rider is allowed in more than one ride-hailing company.

02:20 But it is planned to be banned.

02:23 Which company is liable if the rider has an accident?

02:27 Our subsequent memorandum will ban if you enroll in a TNC company and you cannot enroll in others.
