00:02 >> Jeff, what's been different with camp so far at this point for you guys?
00:07 >> Just the competitiveness, honestly, just everybody's learning the scheme, but
00:11 also everybody's going hard at the same time.
00:13 I would say the coaches are pretty good around here right now.
00:16 We got a good team, a lot of good players, so
00:19 people make a lot of good plays.
00:20 So just trying to keep everybody healthy, but
00:23 it's also camp so sometimes things happen, but just playing hard.
00:27 >> What about the scheme and how have you felt?
00:30 Did you adjust it?
00:32 >> Adjusted pretty well.
00:33 I mean, it was just kind of tough at first cuz I wasn't out there in the spring, but
00:36 being out there now, I can understand just seeing different,
00:40 coaching is on me now, just little techniques, little details.
00:43 So I'm out there just to be at the right spot at the right time,
00:46 not just be out there sometimes just playing, but just being on the ball a lot.
00:51 >> Josh, you mentioned that it has been competitive.
00:53 So people got intense out there.
00:55 People just kind of chomping at the bit to get this season going?
00:58 >> It's just football, it's competitive, it just happens, things happen.
01:01 But it's just football, in a day we all teammate, so things happen.
01:07 It's football.
01:08 >> Josh, you're a guy who's been here for a few years.
01:10 A lot of guys have talked about a different energy,
01:12 competitiveness that they're feeling in camp.
01:14 Do you notice that with the new staff, a lot of change?
01:17 >> Yeah, I do.
01:18 I mean, it always is nonstop just competitive, competitive.
01:22 Everything's competitive.
01:22 Coach Brown emphasized that you wanna know what you gotta do, play hard.
01:26 So when you're out there, it's very competitive.
01:28 >> You're a little guy, Brown, obviously, coming back home.
01:30 What's it been like playing for a coach that you know is so
01:33 invested in this city of Broadway?
01:35 >> It's been good.
01:36 I mean, he's always on the defense.
01:37 He's trying to, he comes over there, we're gonna walk through and stuff, and
01:40 just on us about this little detail, just telling us to move over, do this and that.
01:44 And it helps you when you're in the office of a coach that sees something,
01:48 he's telling you, this is what I see, this is what the quarterback see.
01:51 It helps you play fast.
01:53 >> It seems like, it kind of seems strange that some of the positive talk coming
01:56 off campus, both the DBs and the wide receivers.
01:59 What's that say about the talent in both those groups?
02:01 >> It's nonstop, just we're going at each other.
02:04 Everybody's making plays.
02:05 I would say it's probably the deepest we've been since I've been here, honestly.
02:09 We got different guys on the outside, inside, that can cover.
02:12 Also, it gives an inside that can run routes and got good hands.
02:15 So it's always one on one's a competitive, even through the team drills.
02:18 Somebody might make a good play, the DB might make a good play.
02:21 But it's always this next play, we give them some,
02:24 congratulate them on the catch or something to get them the next play.
02:27 So it's been real competitive.
02:28 >> Stand, stand.
02:31 >> Josh, how did you feel like you, do you feel, are you healthy now?
02:36 And what was it like to sit out and kind of watch during this rain?
02:39 >> I'm good to go.
02:41 I've got a couple of tackles out there today, I would say,
02:43 just kind of warm me back up a little bit.
02:45 But it was just more of just a mental thing for me, just learning the scheme.
02:49 But also, when you're not out there, you see stuff different when you're on
02:52 the field, it's different out there.
02:54 But for me, just now, it's picking up on just a small detail,
02:57 if I can mention before, just making the play,
02:59 being at the right spot at the right time.
03:02 >> You're an older guy, but
03:03 some of the guys that were brought in are older guys on the defense.
03:06 How do you mesh all that together as a group?
03:09 How do you kind of make sure there's enough leadership?
03:12 >> I mean, we just gotta lead.
03:14 I mean, no matter if you've been in for four years, been in for
03:16 a couple months, you just gotta go out there.
03:18 Your job, your assignment, you gotta emphasize your leadership in the team.
03:22 I feel like a lot of guys have been doing that lately.
03:24 They've been honest about just being leaders and being mature.
03:28 So a lot of dudes step up and lead at times.
03:31 >> Josh, what have you enjoyed the most about playing for this team?
03:35 >> Just the different scheme, because before we were in a different defense.
03:38 So the 4-2-5 is more, it puts you in better positions sometimes.
03:42 You don't have to sometimes all you gotta worry about when you're on a matchup.
03:45 You also can be in zones and drop back, different things like that.
03:48 But for me, it's just has been different because I always was kind of just on my
03:53 own for myself, but now I got a little bit of help, so it's good knowing that.
03:57 >> And you guys are playing against wider seagrass.
04:00 Is there anyone in that room that you guys have maybe had a little bit of
04:02 particular trouble with?
04:03 >> I would say all of them, honestly.
04:05 But Trash is probably, he's made some good plays also.
04:10 Jimmy has too, Kevin has, me and Amari, all of them have.
04:12 But I would say Trash.
04:15 >> Josh, going back to the same thing you mentioned,
04:18 I guess something that's a little different about you.
04:20 I guess how do you put this in place for your strengths?
04:23 >> That's more DBs on the field, small guys that can't,
04:27 linebackers sometimes are not the best in coverage.
04:30 But our DBs, I would say, we're deep.
04:32 So just being able to rotate these guys around helps out a lot.
04:36 >> Great, Josh.
