00:01 Meralco will reduce electricity bills this August.
00:05 That's 29 cents per kilowatt hour, or equivalent to Php 58
00:10 for those who consume 200 kilowatt per hour per month.
00:14 According to Meralco, the generation charge is decreasing
00:18 due to the lower bills from the wholesale electricity spot market
00:23 and power supply agreements.
00:25 Currently, the increase in electricity prices is still not seeing any effect.
00:31 The next pricing is due in October for the three plants that are getting electricity.
00:37 But if the oil price hike continues until September,
00:41 it may affect the price of electricity.
