00:00 In today's Veterans Voice, it was just another Wednesday, but for a dozen local
00:04 veterans that served in the Korean War, they were honored with a parade and a
00:08 virtual experience.
00:10 Yeah, this celebration was in place of a trip to Washington D. C. Put together by
00:22 Honor Flight Kern County to remember the local veterans that won't be able
00:26 to go in the fall to our nation's capital due to health reasons. The
00:30 night's event paid tribute to several Korean War veterans. Day is fast upon us
00:36 that unfortunately they won't be here anymore. So it's imperative that we,
00:42 especially a younger generation, it's our responsibility to make sure that
00:48 what they sacrificed, the lives that were given and their personal
00:52 sacrifices that they made are never forgotten.
00:56 Honor Flight Kern County, as you know, an all volunteer organization that
01:01 works to pay tribute to our local vets. The next flight leaves Bakersfield
01:05 October 16th.
