00:00 We begin this hour with an update on a story that we told you about earlier this summer.
00:04 An incident of some dogs being abandoned behind a store in Oildale that was caught on camera.
00:09 23 ABC's Sam Hoyle brings us an update.
00:13 You might remember a story that we brought you a few months ago.
00:15 Three dogs were dumped right behind here at this grocery outlet.
00:19 Thankfully, all three of those dogs are now in the process of being adopted.
00:22 However, those that helped those dogs get to this point don't feel like enough is being
00:27 done to hold the person that dumped them responsible.
00:29 Nobody's going to take any of these laws serious if people are seeing this happen and
00:35 no actions are taken against us.
00:37 It's just going to keep happening.
00:39 Christina Jacober works near where the three dogs were found on June 20th and helped rescue
00:43 them.
00:44 Now as the dogs are safe and set to be adopted, she says the process of trying to hold the
00:48 person who dumped the dogs responsible has been frustrating.
00:51 It's been like headbutting a wall, to be honest.
00:53 After corralling the dogs, Jacober was put in contact with Kim Sill at Shelter Hope Pet
00:57 Shop and Animal Rescue in Thousand Oaks.
01:00 After preparing the dogs for the adoption process, all three dogs went to foster families,
01:04 one in Thousand Oaks, the other two in Washington.
01:07 The dog in Thousand Oaks, Missy, has officially been adopted.
01:10 The other two in Washington are set to be adopted this week.
01:13 Both in fosters, but both of the fosters are finalizing adoptions this week.
01:17 One will take place on Wednesday.
01:18 The other one will be on Sunday, but they've been in a foster home up there for the past
01:24 week and a half.
01:25 Though the three dogs are safe in Sound, Jacober still would like to see justice for
01:28 them.
01:29 I have that one big stepping stool.
01:31 I just need that one person to take their job serious and look this gentleman up and
01:36 it would be solved.
01:38 It's only going to take that one person.
01:40 I can't seem to find that person.
01:42 Kern County Animal Services is responsible for investigating cases like this and prosecuted
01:47 by the district attorney.
01:48 An update on this case is still pending.
