00:00 Filipino Navy sailors coming forward days after their supply boats figured in a latest standoff
00:06 with Chinese vessels in Ayungin Shoal.
00:08 While on their way to Ayungin almost a week ago, they were blocked by several Chinese vessels,
00:20 including those from the China Coast Guard. The soldiers said they were virtually surrounded.
00:26 With little to no room to maneuver, they ended up being fired at by the water cannon.
00:32 With only one of the two supply boats that made it to Ayungin, Manila now exploring its options
00:48 on how to get the rest of the food supplies to BRP Sierra Madre.
00:53 Earliest next week, hopefully. But definitely before the supplies runs out.
00:58 Regional Military Chief Alberto Carlos making a stunning disclosure on Thursday.
01:11 He says over 400 foreign vessels, 85 percent of which from China, are now scattered within this
01:19 part of the West Philippine Sea. Just one of many challenges Filipino forces need to face
01:25 while asserting national sovereignty.
01:27 And as for the Filipino sailors, no amount of coercion seemed to stop them
01:41 as they gear up to return to Ayungin.
01:44 We will not lose our courage or hope. We will have strength in our hearts.
01:51 There's no higher source of moral than the honor and pride of serving the nation, sir.
