00:00 Well, let's all go to the movies.
00:05 Let's all go to the movies.
00:07 Let's all go to the movies to one that you can't take the kids to.
00:10 How are you, Miss Vicki?
00:12 Hello, Brad.
00:13 How are you doing?
00:14 I'm doing good.
00:15 Good.
00:16 I'm doing real good.
00:17 Yes.
00:18 Hey, and rain.
00:19 We can see the light at the end of this hellish tunnel.
00:22 Right.
00:23 And so as we're talking that, we are seeing also, too, kind of like the end of our summer
00:27 movies coming, right?
00:29 Yeah.
00:30 We're getting some like interesting little things that are going to be offered until
00:33 they hit their peak in late October and November for the last few Oscar contenders.
00:39 It's great that this year they've actually given us some of those good movies early in
00:43 the year and not crammed them all into the last five weeks.
00:46 Got it.
00:47 All right.
00:48 Before we start, let's tell them why we call you the Red Vine reviewer.
00:51 Because that's how I rate my movies.
00:53 Five being the best of the best, probably Oscar worthy.
00:57 And one is, oh, don't go there.
01:00 You will really regret it.
01:01 There you go.
01:02 All right, beautiful people, get ready because here goes a review for one that is so cute.
01:06 They're so cute.
01:07 I love dogs.
01:08 I have dogs myself.
01:09 Who doesn't love dogs?
01:10 That's right.
01:11 They're so cute.
01:12 They wear their little badges.
01:13 Yes, yes.
01:14 And they're adorable.
01:15 But this one is not one to take for the kids.
01:16 Not for kids.
01:17 Not for kids.
01:18 Do not take the kids.
01:19 And Brad, I already gave you my true review off camera that I can't possibly give on air
01:26 because it's a little too blunt.
01:27 This is a comedy about a stray dog who is out on the street because his owner has done
01:34 that proverbial, here, go fetch, and throws the ball like in another city and abandons
01:40 the dog.
01:41 And then the dog catches up with a street wise mutt played by Jamie Foxx, the voice,
01:47 because these are real animals but with human voices, who tells him that, no, you're kind
01:53 of dumb.
01:54 They were trying to get rid of you.
01:55 And this little dog decides to get revenge.
01:57 The little dog played by Will Ferrell.
02:00 And them and their two friends decide to go back to the city and catch up with his owner
02:06 and take care of business is all I'm going to say.
02:09 Yeah.
02:10 But this movie is a comedy, but it's only going to be for people who really like it
02:17 raunchy.
02:18 Right.
02:19 To be honest, this movie is vulgar, vulgar, nasty, dirty.
02:24 I can't believe where they went and they went there over and over and over again.
02:30 They want you to groan.
02:31 So they are over the top being bad.
02:34 Oh my God.
02:35 The audience I was with did like it very much.
02:38 But to be honest, this is like written by a nine year old boy, potty humor, and not
02:44 my cup of tea.
02:45 The girl who watches Masterpiece Theater.
02:48 Did laugh.
02:49 There are times where it's funny, but it's one joke.
02:52 And for me, that one joke is too long for an hour and a half.
02:56 But if you like your comedy loose and crazy and wild, you're going to like this movie.
03:02 Just know it's not for children.
03:04 We're talking strays, not for children.
03:07 All right.
03:08 There you go.
03:09 And how many red vines you give it?
03:11 I give it three red vines because it is funny movie.
03:14 But like I said, it's a one joke movie, so it's not reinventing art on any level.
03:19 I prefer my art at a higher level than crotch level.
03:22 Let's put it that way.
03:24 But if it were me personally, it would be getting less than three red vines.
03:28 All right.
03:29 Our next movie.
03:30 But the next movie.
03:31 This is also one for particular tastes.
03:34 Yeah.
03:35 And it's called Invisi...
03:36 It's called Landscape with Invisible Hands.
03:39 Yeah.
03:40 Strange name.
03:41 It's off of a novel.
03:43 It's written off of a fiction book.
03:45 And this is about, you know what, everybody's dream when they want to retire.
03:49 Can you imagine not having to work anymore, not having to stress about anything, you know,
03:55 just being free and casual?
03:57 Well, that's what happens when there's an alien invasion and they come down and they will provide you with their synthetic food.
04:05 But you know what?
04:07 When humans have nothing to live for, there's nothing to live for.
04:12 There's also extreme poverty now because nobody's working.
04:17 They shut down the schools.
04:18 You don't have to go to school.
04:19 You don't do anything.
04:21 The only thing these aliens don't have is emotion.
04:25 So what they do is they monetize emotion.
04:28 And if you broadcast your new relationship as these two young teens do, you can start to make money and buy real food for your family.
04:37 Because in true corporate greed style, even with aliens, the rich are living off planet in nice situation.
04:44 Yeah, the aliens are kind of creepy looking.
04:46 They're very fleshy, weird.
04:48 Yeah, coffee table size.
04:50 This is just a weird little movie.
04:53 But, Brad, what it says about the human condition and about love and what we really are as humans, that is where this movie shines to me.
05:05 It stars Tiffany Haddish, who is just remarkably wonderful as always.
05:10 And get a load of this.
05:12 She not only stars in it, she executive produced it along with Brad Pitt.
05:16 Oh, wow.
05:17 Yes.
05:18 So this movie has a pedigree.
05:19 If you like art, if you like movies that make you think, then you will appreciate this movie.
05:25 But like I said, it also is not for everybody.
05:28 But it was for me.
05:29 And I give it three and a half to four red vines.
05:32 A lot to think about with this movie.
05:34 All right.
05:35 There you go.
05:36 Like I said, what was bothering me was the aliens.
05:38 I don't know why.
05:39 When they were doing the hand things.
05:40 They're creepy.
05:41 Yeah, they just kind of really bothered me.
05:42 They're benevolent.
05:43 They're benevolent in their own weird, crazy way.
05:45 But they're still rulers.
05:47 And this says a lot about social media because it's monetization.
05:50 And what happens when you run out of things.
05:52 Like when this couple is not in love anymore, they find themselves in big trouble.
05:56 Wow.
05:57 Yeah.
05:58 So there you go.
06:00 Vicki, tell them where they can find you.
06:02 Friday's with you, Brad.
06:04 And on Facebook under Flick Chick Vicki.
06:06 And that's V-I-Q-U-E.
06:08 There you go.
06:09 What's our next one we have?
06:10 Gran Turismo.
06:11 Yes.
06:12 The car one.
06:13 And then the Adam Sandler all-family feature.
06:16 You are so not invited to my bat mitzvah.
06:19 There you go.
06:20 I like it.
06:21 All right.
06:22 Got the movie picks for you.
