00:04 With just one preseason game left,
00:06 the Browns have a couple different decisions
00:08 to make about who will be on this initial roster.
00:12 The good news is that the Browns are a talented enough team
00:15 where they have a lot of competition happening deep
00:17 into some position groups.
00:19 It is definitely a good problem to have.
00:21 One group with a ton of depth is the wide receivers.
00:24 An unlikely star has risen in the last month or so,
00:27 and that is Austin Watkins Jr.
00:30 The Browns signed him on July 22nd,
00:32 so he really has not been in Cleveland for that long,
00:34 but has made a massive impact on the media and fans
00:37 throughout camp and the preseason.
00:40 During his three preseason games,
00:42 he has 15 receptions for 245 yards
00:45 and two receiving touchdowns.
00:47 If the Browns do decide to cut him
00:49 and not put him on the initial 53,
00:52 he most likely will not make it back to the practice squad
00:54 and will probably be picked up by another roster.
00:57 Another guy who has really impressed everyone
00:59 is safety Ronnie Hickman.
01:01 Hickman went undrafted when he came out of Ohio State
01:04 and has had really excellent production this preseason
01:07 with three interceptions.
01:09 He is always really aggressive
01:10 and is never hesitant to go after the ball.
01:14 Hickman has the opportunity to be the fourth safety
01:16 on this roster, and based on what he has shown
01:18 this preseason, I believe that he has earned that spot
01:21 over DeAnthony Bell.
01:23 Lastly, linebacker Mahmoud Diabate
01:25 has really flashed in the preseason
01:27 and has a legitimate chance of getting a roster spot.
01:30 In the game against the Eagles,
01:32 he had a nice tackle for a loss in the end zone
01:34 that forced his safety.
01:35 He also had a great play where he punched the ball
01:38 out of Trey Sermon's arms and forced a fumble.
01:41 The Browns have nine linebackers on their roster currently,
01:44 so it's going to be a tough decision,
01:46 but Diabate has proven why he deserves some consideration.
