00:00 New images released by HS2 have revealed plans that will see Old Oak Common station with more platforms than Kings Cross.
00:09 Old Oak Common is expected to welcome 250,000 passengers, serving HS2 and the Elizabeth Line connections to destinations including Heathrow, Reading and Birmingham.
00:21 Planned to open in the early 2030s, West London's £2.5 billion project is said to be the largest new station ever built in the UK and it's best connected.
00:33 Situated between North Acton and Wilston Junction stations, it will have 14 platforms. By contrast, Kings Cross station has 11.
00:42 It will enable passengers to travel in and out of their capital via HS2, with easy interchanges onto the Elizabeth Line, into central London, east London and up to Heathrow and Reading.
00:53 Once fully operating, Old Oak Common is expected to be used by 250,000 passengers every single day, making it one of the busiest stations in the country.
01:03 As well as the station, the project is expected to support up to 65,000 jobs and 25,500 new homes and will deliver works including a public square, a road and a cycleway.
