Marcos orders more warehouse raids to curb hoarding

00:00 In the recent service of a letter of authority, we served three letters of authority against
00:07 three warehouses reportedly utilized in storing imported rice located at the Inter-City Industrial
00:15 Complex, San Juan, Malagtas, Balucan.
00:19 The three warehouses that were subjected to the visitorial power of the Commissioner is
00:24 our Great Harvest Rice Mill Warehouse located at Inter-City Industrial Complex, San Juan,
00:30 Malagtas, Balucan, San Pedro Warehouse, Inter-City Industrial Complex, San Juan, Balagtas, Balucan,
00:37 and FS Rice Mill Warehouse, same location.
00:45 When the subject law was served, implemented, and some secret inventory were conducted,
00:52 the sacks of rice respectively found in the subject warehouses were imported from Vietnam,
00:57 Cambodia, and Thailand, with an initial estimated aggregate value of Php 505 million.
01:08 Twenty-five thousand estimated sacks of rice were found at Great Harvest Rice Mill, one
01:13 hundred sixty-seven thousand estimated sacks of rice found at San Pedro Warehouse, and
01:19 ten thousand estimated sacks of rice found at FS Rice Mill Warehouse.
01:27 Thereafter, the subject warehouses were sealed temporarily to secure the imported sacks of
01:33 rice found therein, pending the completion of the inventory by the assigned examiners,
01:39 which will continue on today, August 29.
01:45 It is being currently underguarded by personnels from the Bureau of Customs and the Philippine
01:53 Coast Guard.
01:57 The owners and operators of the warehouses were directed to submit proofs of payment
02:03 of duties and taxes due to the subject imported sacks of rice within fifteen days from the
02:09 implementation of the law or until September 8, 2023.
