LSU or Florida State: Who Will Have a Better Season in 2023?

00:06 I mean, listen, we're talking about two teams that for the most part, I mean, I have LSU
00:12 favored in about 11 games, including this first one coming up here this year.
00:17 They are going to be the favorite as well as they should.
00:19 And by the way, that game last year, LSU won that game.
00:24 They beat them in just about every facet of the game, except for, of course, the end there
00:29 and Brian Kelly, that look on his face at the end of that game, it still is laughable
00:34 and meme worthy.
00:36 But listen, Florida State, Morvell, you know, is Florida State back there making an awful
00:41 lot of noise down here, Ben, about this team and about, you know, Florida State being back.
00:47 We've heard that for years from Miami.
00:49 Well, here's your chance to prove that last year wasn't a fluke and no better way to start
00:54 than against LSU, a team that I believe plus 200 to win the SEC West, a team in which many
01:01 believe with Brian Kelly are going to take are going to make a run at this.
01:06 If that's the case, Florida State, I can't see any battle, any better way to start the
01:11 season and say Florida State is back than by you handling the SEC and LSU in this game.
01:19 A huge game for both teams, Joe, because again, nine year history of the college football
01:24 playoff.
01:25 We have never seen a two loss team make the CFP.
01:28 So if you drop the opener, you pretty much have to be perfect the rest of the way.
01:33 If you have those hopes of reaching the college football playoff in playing for a national
01:38 title and unlike the beginning of last year, Joe, these two teams now have that expectation
01:44 win totals of nine and a half for both LSU, the second best price in the SEC West Florida
01:51 State, the second best price in the SEC in the conference as a whole.
01:56 So Joe, as you compare these two programs, who has a better year in 2023?
02:00 Well, I mean, the SEC obviously is a tougher sled here, right?
02:05 But again, favorite in 11 games.
02:07 I mean, I don't know, Florida State, Clemson, Florida State, you know, Miami, you start
02:14 going down a list of some of these schools that they're going to have to play.
02:17 You would think the ACC would be an easier path for Florida State to have the better
02:22 year, but I'm not so sure.
02:25 I don't believe it.
02:26 I do think LSU is on the rise.
02:29 I will believe it when I see it and maybe I'll be proven wrong in game one, but I'm
02:33 not a big Mike Norvell guy.
02:35 I don't believe Florida State is back.
02:38 I think they take a step back this year.
