00:02 - Welcome back.
00:05 We are back with our friends from Stars Playhouse
00:07 to talk about a fun event called End of Summer Sunday
00:10 that is happening this weekend.
00:11 But first, I'm gonna let our guests introduce themselves.
00:14 - Yeah. - I'm John Spitzer.
00:16 - I'm Natalie Underwood.
00:17 It's nice to be here, thank you.
00:19 - Good, good, good.
00:19 Glad you're here.
00:20 So what can we expect this Sunday?
00:22 - So we have a whole lot of different offerings.
00:24 There's a couple of theater groups.
00:26 We are part of a movement theater group called The Circle.
00:30 We devise original pieces,
00:32 so we'll be there with one of our pieces of theater.
00:35 There's some improv comedy as well
00:37 as a couple of local bands.
00:40 But in addition to all the entertainment,
00:42 we have a bunch of vendors that are gonna be set up
00:44 in our parking lot.
00:46 The weather report says it's gonna be nice that day.
00:49 So there's gonna be some books, some art,
00:52 maybe some jewelry and clothing.
00:54 And yeah, it's only $10 to get in, out,
00:57 the Stars Playhouse on 2756 Misasco.
01:01 - Awesome, and I hope you all got that weather report
01:03 from us, by the way. (Natalie laughs)
01:04 Would you be able to tell us a little bit about The Circle?
01:06 - Absolutely.
01:07 It's like a wonderful marriage and kind of a weird hybrid
01:10 between theater and dance.
01:13 We work together, it's almost a year,
01:16 or three years now, three years now.
01:18 Once a week, we get together, we have live musicians,
01:22 and we have people of different sizes, shapes,
01:24 different abilities, and we create basically a piece
01:29 based on kind of different concepts or ideas.
01:35 And it's funny how organically everything comes together
01:38 when you have these amazing musicians
01:40 and people that can really have those exercises
01:45 to really get open and free and move.
01:48 And we've created some really amazing works.
01:50 They're not necessarily narratives in the traditional sense,
01:54 but they deal with very universal themes,
01:56 and yeah, it's a lot of fun.
01:58 - Yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun.
01:59 Where can everyone in Kern County get tickets?
02:02 - So just tickets at the door, yeah,
02:05 tickets at the door out there,
02:07 2756 Misasco out on Rosedale.
02:10 So the event, the entertainment will start at seven,
02:12 but the event itself starts at six.
02:15 - Awesome.
02:16 - And it's felt more like a festival
02:17 the last couple years we've done it, so it's fun.
02:19 There's something there for everyone.
02:20 - Well, thank you all for coming.
02:22 All the information is on the screen.
02:23 Stars Playhouse is the place to be this Sunday.
02:26 And that is all the time that we have for our show today.
02:28 Thank you so much for watching.
02:29 You can follow us on Instagram and Facebook @KernLiving
02:32 and myself @briannelson23.
02:34 And I'll see you all Thursday morning, same time,
02:36 same place for Kern Living.
02:38 Thank you.
