00:00 Only walls and iron bars remain after fire razed his house in Tandang Sora, Quezon City,

00:05 Thursday morning.

00:07 Even its occupants were almost wiped out.

00:10 Only three of 18 people survived, among the dead the owner of the house.

00:15 The fire bureau says the blaze only reached first alarm, but it took them nearly three

00:20 hours to control it.

00:22 They say flames quickly spread throughout the house because of fabric and chemicals

00:26 used for printing.

00:27 The house was also a factory for garments, bags and shoes.

00:32 The business, MGC Warehouse, Inc., only had a permit to operate as a clothing warehouse

00:38 and not a manufacturing site.

00:40 Aside from lacking the necessary business papers, it had already been ordered to transfer

00:44 to a commercial area.

00:46 One of the three workers who survived was left speechless.

00:50 Another worker learned only of the tragedy on her way to work.

00:53 "Of course I was hurt.

00:58 My colleagues are gone.

01:03 My boss is gone.

01:04 My boss is so kind."

01:05 Leilani Laron had to break the news to their relatives in Mindoro that her three nieces

01:07 who work in the factory also perished in the fire.

01:10 "We have no contact with Mindoro.

01:12 They don't know.

01:13 My husband went here a while ago.

01:14 They just found out that their child is gone."

01:19 While the fire bureau is still investigating the cause of the fire.

01:23 They say people could have called in much earlier.

01:26 They note people already saw the fire at around 4 a.m.

01:29 They received the alert only past 5.

01:32 "So far we have heard people who are AFB Live.

01:35 Our advice is not to go AFB Live first.

01:39 If not, call the nearest fire station that is located in our barangay."
