00:00 Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03 This is our update on the weather we are watching for Bagyong Hana.
00:07 Earlier this morning at 4am,
00:10 we were able to observe the center of Bagyong Hana,
00:13 520 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
00:18 This is a typhoon category with strong winds
00:21 that are close to the center,
00:22 reaching 120 kilometers per hour
00:25 and a storm that reaches 150 kilometers per hour.
00:29 At present, it is moving at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
00:34 We can see here in our latest satellite images
00:36 that there are two more storms outside our Philippine area of responsibility.
00:41 First is Bagyong Saula, which is a former storm,
00:45 as well as Tropical Storm Kirogi.
00:47 These three storms inside and outside our PIR
00:50 are causing our Southwest Monsoon,
00:54 which is causing heavy rainfall in a large part of Luzon
00:57 and the western section of Visayas.
01:00 In order to be more active and strong in the coming days,
01:04 we expect that Hana will continue to move
01:09 generally west-northwestward or westward.
01:13 While it is passing through the area of the Philippine Sea
01:18 in the east of extreme northern Luzon,
01:20 it is possible for it to landfall on the east coast of southern Taiwan.
01:24 During this period, we expect a weakening of the storm.
01:31 Hana is possible to leave our Philippine area of responsibility
01:36 on Monday afternoon or evening.
01:39 While outside the Philippine area of responsibility,
01:43 Hana will be almost stationary here in Taiwan Street.
01:49 Hana will continue to weaken.
01:52 It is possible for it to weaken into a Tropical Depression category
01:56 late Wednesday or early Thursday.
02:00 This morning, we experienced a tropical cyclone wind signal
02:05 in several parts of our country.
02:07 In Batanes Island, we experienced a wind signal number one.
02:10 We expect strong gusts of wind
02:14 to bring out the rain bands of Guaring
02:16 within the next 36 hours.
02:18 So let's be prepared for the storms
02:20 and the hazards of strong winds in the coming days.
02:24 For the strong rains brought by Hurricane Guaring,
02:28 we expect that tomorrow we will experience
02:31 a strong rainstorm in Batanes
02:34 because we expect that the outer rain bands of Guaring
02:38 will be possible to reach the mentioned area.
02:40 For the strong winds brought by Hana,
02:47 we expect that the areas with the wind signal number one
02:51 will experience strong gusts of wind.
02:55 So in Batanes, we will experience strong gusts of wind
03:01 within the next 36 hours.
03:04 For the rain brought by Habagat or Southwest Monsoon,
03:09 which is caused by the three storms
03:11 inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility,
03:15 we expect that tomorrow we will experience
03:18 a strong rainstorm in the Luzon and Western section of Visayas.
03:25 For the areas of Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Nueve Ecija,
03:29 Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Matangas,
03:34 we will experience moderate to heavy rains.
03:38 For the heavy to intense rains,
03:40 we will experience them in Metro Manila,
03:42 Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
03:47 By Monday, it is possible that the rains will decrease
03:50 in the areas of Metro Manila and Ilocos Region,
03:53 and Occidental Mindoro.
03:55 But we still expect that in the mentioned areas,
03:58 the high chance of sudden flooding and landslides,
04:01 and the flooding of rivers and lakes.
04:06 And for the strong gusts of wind
04:11 that is bringing the heavy rains and causing the storm to rise,
04:15 and for now, until tomorrow, and it is possible to continue until Monday,
04:19 we will experience a strong gust of wind
04:22 that is bringing the heavy rains in the areas of Batanes,
04:25 Baboyan Islands, in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Nueva Vizcaya,
04:30 Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila,
04:36 Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Cabiculan, Western Visayas,
04:41 and the northern portion of Eastern Visayas.
04:45 And for the condition of our ocean,
04:47 because of the continuous strong gusts of wind,
04:50 it is causing severe sea conditions in some parts of our country.
04:55 So, the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon,
04:59 and the large part of the western seaboard of Visayas,
05:03 we have a gale warning in these areas.
05:06 So, to our fellow fishermen and those who are afraid of sea vehicles,
05:10 if possible, do not go out yet,
05:12 because we expect that this storm will continue until the very next season
05:17 that is bringing the heavy rains that is causing the storm to rise.
05:21 And for the weather conditions of Luzon,
05:25 we expect rains with gusty winds,
05:29 and strong gusts of wind in the area of Batanes within the next 24 hours.
05:35 Meanwhile, the monsoon rains,
05:37 or the heavy rains that are brought by the sea,
05:41 will be similar to the rains in the areas of Ilocos region,
05:46 in the part of Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
05:51 Occasional rains, or the gusts of rain,
05:54 will be experienced here in Metro Manila, in some parts of Cordillera,
05:59 in some parts of Central Luzon, and in a large part of Calabarzon.

06:38 be alert to the presence of flash floods and landslides,
06:41 and continue to monitor the heavy rainfall warnings
06:44 that are released or issued by our regional centres in our localities.
