00:00 >> Well, Aggies fans, how about that one?
00:02 We hope you caught our halftime report or
00:05 halftime reaction of the Aggies Lobos, 35-7 at the half.
00:09 The game is now complete.
00:11 And really it was another, the second half was just a continuation of
00:16 the first half as far as the Aggies play was concerned.
00:18 Connor Wigman still throwing touchdown passes.
00:22 The Lobos still losing every aspect of the line of scrimmage battle,
00:29 both on offense and on defense.
00:31 By the time the fourth quarter rolled around,
00:34 Connor Wigman was on the bench, had his helmet off, relaxing.
00:41 And Max Johnson was out there.
00:44 The defense didn't let up at all.
00:45 As the Lobos, we know who they are.
00:52 They won, I think, one game last season, maybe two.
00:57 I know they lost their last nine games of the season last year.
00:59 So that's the level of competition we're talking about here.
01:03 The Aggies defense allowed only 222 total yards on the night.
01:08 The Aggies racked up 411 yards of offense.
01:12 Connor Wigman 18 to 23, 236 yards, five touchdowns.
01:16 And again, I stress this every time we talk about Connor Wigman,
01:20 including the four games that he played in last year after Johnson got hurt.
01:24 Zero interceptions.
01:27 Connor Wigman has not allowed an interception in any start of his
01:31 collegiate career.
01:32 Of course, that's not gonna continue, that's a ridiculous stat.
01:35 But this early in his career for the Aggies, I think that's a big deal.
01:40 And I don't think that should be overlooked.
01:42 I think that it says a lot about Jimbo Fisher and the way he's coached Wigman.
01:48 We already know about Wigman's talent.
01:50 We already know how good he is with his natural ability.
01:53 But the fact that he's able to throw those ball,
01:58 it's not like he's just throwing open receivers all the time.
02:00 He is throwing into traffic, he's throwing darts down the field.
02:06 And a couple of times, when he was under pressure,
02:08 I thought he was throwing it up for grabs.
02:11 But of course, his receiver would be the only one to get to the ball.
02:15 So clearly he knows his receivers well, and that's how he was playing the game.
02:20 So I mean, if I had a gripe about the game tonight and
02:24 the Aggies, their performance,
02:29 I would say that three out of seven on third down efficiency is not great.
02:34 However, your defense held New Mexico to three of 12.
02:39 So three of seven is not great on third down, but
02:41 the Aggies didn't get into long third downs a lot.
02:46 And they didn't have extended drives really through the first half of the game.
02:49 The only category the Lobos had a higher number in was time of possession,
02:57 and it was by almost ten minutes, 3420 to 2540 for the Aggies.
03:02 And that's a byproduct of the Aggies not having extended drives.
03:07 They were scoring quick in the first half.
03:10 Another aspect I don't like too much about the game, nine penalties for 87 yards.
03:16 Again, it's game one, week one, that will get cleaned up.
03:22 Jimbo Fisher won't allow that to happen.
03:24 That was one of the things that brought the team down last year in their five and
03:27 seven season.
03:28 I don't see Jimbo Fisher allowing that again as the season goes on.
03:34 So I would love to hear what you thought about the Aggies' performance,
03:37 about what you thought about Bobby Petrino's calling plays, about his offense.
03:43 And really the way, did this game go how you thought it would be?
03:47 Everybody made predictions before the game, including you.
03:50 I know you did, or you had it in your head.
03:52 I'll be happy if the score is at least this.
03:54 I won't be if it's this.
03:56 So let me know what you thought we were walking into here as the Aggies took
04:01 on the Lobos at Kyle Field tonight on Saturday.
04:05 And what your expectations are now on the rest of the season
04:09 based on this one game.
04:10 You got Miami next week at Hard Rock in Miami.
04:14 It's an entirely different level of opponent.
04:17 They're 1-0 already to start the season.
04:19 And again, they played kind of a cream puff in Miami of Ohio.
04:23 But you don't know, we'll see.
04:26 I'm excited about Miami.
04:27 And I'm excited about the season going forward until the Aggies give me
04:31 a reason to not be excited.
04:33 So that's gonna do it.
04:33 I'm Indy Carr, Tim.
04:34 Thanks for tuning in here to the Aggies-Lobos post-game reaction,
