00:00 Hi I'm Andrew Snowden, Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner and for this week's
00:04 video I am, as you can probably tell, sat at a bus stop in Preston. And actually the
00:10 reason I'm here is because we're having a bit of a chat with some local police officers
00:14 talking to the local community about Operation Centurion and tackling anti-social behaviour.
00:19 We know that community centres such as bus stops, bus stations, fast food restaurants,
00:26 all those kind of things are targeted by anti-social behaviour on a regular basis. And Operation
00:30 Centurion is about increasing the visible police presence, the foot patrols, the number
00:35 of bobbies on the beat to get out and deter and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour
00:40 in neighbourhoods like this. It's proven to have great success and I look forward to being
00:45 able to update you all soon on the number of arrests, the number of patrols that have
00:48 happened, the number of civil powers that have been issued, the number of youth referrals
00:52 that have been issued. It's all the different tools the police have to tackle anti-social
00:57 behaviour in neighbourhoods like this.
