A fantastic display from a versatile player.

00:00 and Jamie Shackleton, obviously listed as a midfielder, played at left-back on Saturday,
00:05 and he was fantastic in that position. It looks like, to me, looking from the outside in,
00:11 that he's a very, very versatile player and he can play everywhere. Where do you think his main
00:16 position could be? - Yeah, I can't remember where I saw it. I saw it somewhere, someone saying he's
00:20 a bit like a mini-Stuart Dallas, and I thought that was quite right, really. I think that's about
00:24 right. And what is he? He's only 23 and he's already starting to tick off the positions already.
00:29 He's played obviously right-back, left-back, centre midfield. He's played on the wing at times
00:33 and just a really good asset to have as a squad player. I suppose the challenge for him now,
00:37 though, is to go from being a squad player as such, someone that can be called upon when there's
00:42 injuries or someone who can be called upon off the bench to become a regular starter. And there's no
00:48 reason why he can't do that at left-back, I don't think. As you say, I think he's looked pretty
00:52 decent there. That's fallen his way, I suppose, because of injuries. Obviously, Junior Firpo,
00:57 first and foremost, and now Sam Byron as well. I don't think Byron's going to be long-term in
01:02 the slightest. I think he might even be back for Millwall. So, Daniel will have a real big decision
01:06 to make there, 100 per cent, because he has looked pretty decent, Shackleton. He's energetic, he gets
01:12 up the pitch, he links up really well with Nonto down that flank. So, I think people are probably
01:17 thinking that Sam Byron will be first-choice left-back until Firpo comes back. And then,
01:21 obviously, it basically depends what happens with Firpo. The jury's still out on him,
01:24 obviously, a lot. I think Daniel does rate him, though, and thinks he can be a good player.
01:28 But for now, Shackleton is the one. And if he suddenly comes out of the side when one of those
01:32 players is out, then he might think, 'Well, it's a bit harsh for me to be coming out.' So,
01:37 yes, he's done well and long may it continue. He's a very, very good player to have and also
01:42 be interesting as well against Millwall, because that's obviously where he was on loan last season,
01:46 if he gets the nod for that game. So, that's a good problem for Daniel to have. But, yes,
01:49 you've got to give kudos to Jamie Shackleton. He's been very good so far in that position,
01:52 that matter about it.
