00:00 Rights group Amnesty International has accused Eritrean troops allied with the country's
00:04 government of extensive war crimes months after a peace deal was signed to end a brutal
00:10 civil war centred around the northern Ethiopian region of Tigray.
00:14 The deal from last November between the Ethiopian government and Tigrayan rebels called for
00:19 the withdrawal of foreign forces.
00:21 But Eritrean troops still operate in Tigray because Eritrea was not party to that deal.

00:29 Investigators from NGO Amnesty International interviewed 49 Tigrayan survivors, witnesses
00:35 and officials before concluding that possible war crimes and crimes against humanity had
00:40 been committed against civilians in northern Ethiopian region since the signing of a peace
00:46 deal at the end of last year.
00:49 Many Tigrayans accused Eritrean soldiers of abuse.
00:52 Eleven women reported sexual slavery and gang rape inside a military camp even three months
00:58 after the peace agreement that was meant to end two years of civil war.
