A bright start for AVFC.

00:00 Looking at Aston Villa, also started with Premier League opening defeat, but they've
00:05 seemingly bounced back. I mean, then the battering of Everton and a fantastic win away at Burnley
00:11 and obviously Hibs as well in the Europa Conference League, starting off that campaign well. Then
00:17 they go to Liverpool and lose. So maybe it's a case throughout the season that it's important
00:22 to beat the teams below you and maybe draw and sometimes take a loss against the team
00:28 above. Obviously, Newcastle and Liverpool away, very tough fixtures. But what do you
00:32 make of it so far?
00:33 Yeah, they had the odd strong result against teams in the big six last season, against
00:37 Man United and Chelsea, memorably. But then Liverpool at home and away, the away result
00:43 was fantastic last season, great performance. But it is the case of that, I do agree, especially
00:49 with the European games and being so tired and not quite having that squad depth. They
00:53 were very unfortunate injuries as well. You would expect to defeat Liverpool though, so
00:58 I don't think fans would be too disappointed by that. The Newcastle one though, that was
01:02 a thrashing 5-1 at St James' Park. That was very disappointing to start the season off.
01:07 They did respond well, responded very well in fact to that and to get that 4-0 win over
01:12 Everton and winning 5-0 at Hibs, 3-1 at Burnley, 3-0 against Hibs. It's almost disappointing
01:17 to then go and concede 3-0 to Liverpool. It's not like it was a 1-0 defeat. But plenty of
01:20 positives to take and some decent fixtures actually after the international break, starting
01:24 at home to Palace, more European games, a first one away at League Year Warsaw. Chelsea
01:30 away could actually be quite a favourable fixture and then they've got everything in
01:34 the cup. So I think lots of positives to take for Villa at the start of the season, even
01:38 if they are down in tenth.
