00:02 - Hello and welcome to the latest TV news.
00:13 My name is Jacob Pannins.
00:14 I'm a reporter for Sussex World,
00:16 and I'm gonna be speaking with sports reporter Sam Morton
00:19 about Brighton's 3-1 victory over Newcastle United,
00:22 as well as England's upcoming games.
00:24 But first, here are the top stories from across the county.
00:27 (upbeat music)
00:29 A 25-year-old man from Eastbourne
00:33 has been charged with five offences
00:35 after a police pursuit that included a helicopter,
00:38 according to officers.
00:40 A Sussex police spokesperson said a Citroen Picasso,
00:43 which had already been drawn to police attention,
00:45 was spotted by officers at around 4.30 p.m. on August 28th
00:49 on the A259 Pevensey Bay Road.
00:52 According to police, the Citroen was relocated
00:54 a short time later in Duchelles Way, Eastbourne,
00:58 following a call from a member of public
01:00 with the occupants having decamped and a dog unit deployed.
01:04 The vehicle was recovered
01:05 for forensic examination, police added.
01:08 Police said Cameron Bailey of Foxglove Road
01:11 has been charged with failure to stop, dangerous driving,
01:14 driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence,
01:16 driving without insurance, and possession of cannabis.
01:20 Bailey appeared before Brighton Magistrates Court
01:22 on August 30th and was remanded in custody
01:24 to appear before Lewis Crown Court on September 29th,
01:27 according to police.
01:28 An elderly walker in Eastbourne was rescued
01:30 after slipping and falling 30 feet down a cliff,
01:33 finding himself in a very difficult and dangerous position,
01:36 according to Coast Guard crews.
01:38 On the morning of Sunday, September 3rd,
01:40 Burlingap Coast Guard posted on social media
01:43 about the incident by Sugarloaf Cliff near Holywell.
01:46 A spokesperson from the crew said alongside the fire,
01:49 police, and ambulance services,
01:50 they carried out a technical rescue
01:52 to help get the walker back to the cliff top.
01:54 Once in safety, he was passed to the ambulance service
01:57 to help with his injuries.
01:58 A cyclist in his 50s was taken to hospital
02:01 with life-threatening injuries
02:02 following a collision in East Sussex, police said.
02:05 Officers said emergency services,
02:07 including an air ambulance,
02:09 were called to Powder Mill Lane in battle
02:10 at around midday on Sunday, September 3rd,
02:13 to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist.
02:16 The road had been closed in both directions,
02:19 according to police.
02:21 Anyone who witnessed the incident
02:22 or has relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
02:25 A rare osprey has been spotted in Sussex.
02:29 Wildlife photographer Jeff Penfold
02:30 could hardly believe his eyes
02:32 when he was able to capture these great pictures
02:34 of a rare bird of prey.
02:36 Mr. Penfold was taking pictures
02:37 at the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve in East Sussex
02:40 on September 30th when he spotted the bird.
02:43 Ospreys are a bird of prey that feeds on fish
02:46 and breed in northern Britain and mostly northern Europe.
02:49 The birds mainly migrate south to below Equatorial Africa
02:52 each autumn and they are not common sight in Sussex,
02:55 but each year some pass through our county
02:57 and can be seen along the rivers and reservoirs.
03:00 The osprey is listed on the Amber List
03:02 of UK Birds of Conservation Concern
03:04 because of the long-term population decline
03:06 and since it is a rare breeding bird in the UK.
03:09 People from all over the world descended on Hastings
03:11 at the weekend to take part in a unique and colorful event
03:15 that had its origins in the town.
03:17 Frock Up Friday was originally conceived
03:19 by locals Susan Sims and Bavali Francis in 2020
03:23 as a way to ease the pain of COVID lockdown.
03:26 It saw people dressing up
03:27 in their most glamorous outfits to meet online.
03:30 It evolved from that to the colorful parade
03:32 and weekend-long celebrations it is today.
03:35 Now it has become a global phenomenon
03:37 with over 15,000 members from across the world,
03:39 including some from as far away as the USA and Australia.
03:43 Eastbourne's Steampunk Festival returned
03:45 to the town over the weekend.
03:47 On Saturday, September 2nd and Sunday, September 3rd,
03:51 Eastbourne celebrated all things steampunk,
03:53 which is a genre of science fiction
03:55 inspired by Victorian era industrialization.
03:58 Spanning from the Wish Tower slopes to the bandstand,
04:01 this event aimed to astound, dazzle,
04:03 entertain and delight visitors of all ages.
04:06 To see more photos from the event,
04:08 please visit Sussex World online.
04:11 A date has been announced
04:12 for when Eastbourne's popular Soapbox Race will return.
04:15 The event in Duke's Drive takes place
04:17 on Sunday, September 24th for its third edition,
04:20 as spectators will be able to see teams take to the course
04:23 in their specially made soapboxes.
04:25 Many businesses and organizations have signed up
04:28 to take part in the event,
04:29 which is free for spectators to enjoy.
04:31 The course is just under 350 meters long
04:34 and will contain various jumps, crazy bends
04:37 and hay bale chicanes,
04:39 not to mention the wacky outfits
04:41 and soapboxes on display.
04:43 Trophy presentations will include wackiest soapbox creation
04:46 and fastest soapbox.
04:48 The race starts at midday.
04:50 The Eastbourne Walking Festival
04:52 is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year
04:54 with 49 walks,
04:55 and it is also announced
04:57 when it will be returning to the town.
04:59 The event, which encourages people to get out and about,
05:02 be more active and discover the joys of walking,
05:05 will run from September 15th to 24th.
05:08 We will have more on that next week
05:10 as we look at some of the walks on offer.
05:13 Now let's hear from sports reporter, Sam Morton,
05:15 as we discuss Gareth Southgate's squad
05:18 and England's chances against Ukraine and Scotland.
05:20 (upbeat music)
05:23 So I've got sports reporter, Sam Morton, with me here,
05:28 and we're gonna be speaking a bit more
05:29 about Gareth Southgate's squad for the England games,
05:32 as well as their upcoming fixture against Ukraine.
05:34 So obviously, Sam,
05:36 the main person we're looking at is Lewis Dunk, isn't it?
05:38 - Yeah, no, it's great to see him back in the England squad.
05:42 It's a long time coming.
05:43 Obviously, it was a shame that he obviously picked up
05:45 the injury last time he was picked in the team,
05:48 but now finally, he should really get a good chance
05:51 to impress, and as I say, a long time coming,
05:53 because he's been incredible for Brighton
05:55 for so many years now,
05:57 and it's been crazy that he's been overlooked
06:00 so many times by Gareth Southgate.
06:02 So it's great that he's finally got that recognition,
06:04 and I really hope that he takes the chance to impress,
06:07 and he gets the opportunity to do so,
06:09 and I think he will, obviously, with John Stones' injury.
06:12 You would like to think that he would start
06:13 with obviously Harry Maguire not being a starter
06:16 for Man United at the moment.
06:18 You would hope that he wouldn't go straight
06:20 into the starting XI for England,
06:21 and Lewis Dunk would be one of the first names
06:23 on the team sheet.
06:24 - Yeah, well, that was one thing I was gonna ask,
06:26 do we think he's gonna start,
06:27 and I think it was Jamie Carragher
06:29 towards the end of last season said
06:30 he doesn't see a better English out-and-out centre-back
06:32 in the league than Lewis Dunk,
06:34 and we were talking about it a bit before,
06:36 Tyrone Mings isn't in the squad,
06:37 I think Stones isn't in the squad.
06:39 You know, it's kind of Tamori, Maguire, maybe Walker,
06:42 and then Lewis Dunk, and you're thinking out of those lot,
06:44 probably Dunk is the best out-and-out centre-back there.
06:46 - 100%, yeah, no, he plays every week for Brighton,
06:49 unless he's injured, really,
06:50 and he's got that kind of experience of playing in a team
06:53 that likes to play with the ball, dominates the ball,
06:55 and takes the game to the opposition,
06:57 so I think he's kind of perfect
06:59 for the games against Ukraine and Scotland, really.
07:02 He can really slot in well into that role,
07:04 and if Gareth Southgate wants his players
07:07 to be comfortable on the ball,
07:09 I think he's the perfect option, in all honesty,
07:12 and he's got that kind of experience
07:14 of playing under De Serbie,
07:15 and can kind of maybe bring a bit of that
07:16 into the England squad as well,
07:18 so I think it's only positives all round,
07:20 and I think he has to start both of those games, I think.
07:22 - Yeah, well, I agree.
07:23 I think if I was Gareth Southgate,
07:25 I'd be starting Dunk in both those games,
07:27 but I wonder if Southgate will be quite apprehensive,
07:29 considering that Dunk hasn't played that much for England,
07:31 hasn't played with those players,
07:33 might not be completely comfortable,
07:34 although I think he's the right player,
07:35 but I mean, talking about Gareth Southgate,
07:37 his squad selection raised a few eyebrows across the country.
07:40 What were your thoughts on some of the players
07:42 he selected there?
07:43 - Yeah, a few strange ones.
07:45 I think Southgate admitted himself
07:47 that he had to go with kind of players that were fit,
07:50 I guess, but it is strange when you have players
07:54 like Maguire, Calvin Phillips,
07:56 when they just don't get a look in for their clubs,
07:59 and it's strange to see them go straight
08:02 into the national team squad,
08:03 and I think we've obviously seen that Southgate
08:04 does have his favourites,
08:06 and he does like to pick the same players
08:07 going into tournaments.
08:08 He almost treats it like a club himself, really,
08:10 like where he knows who his favourite line-up is.
08:13 He likes to stick to that.
08:14 So it does leave players like Soli March
08:18 in the lurch a little bit.
08:19 I think it's difficult for players like that
08:21 to even get a look in,
08:22 because he kind of has his tried and tested players
08:24 that he does like to stick with,
08:26 but it is strange, I think, obviously,
08:27 with Harry Maguire, he's even further down the pecking order
08:29 at Man United now than he was before.
08:33 Same with Calvin Phillips,
08:34 doesn't really get a look in at City,
08:35 but yet, still picked for England.
08:36 So obviously, wishing the best.
08:38 You hope they do well for the team,
08:39 but yeah, just disappointed for some players
08:41 that are missing out as a result, really.
08:44 - Yeah, I guess it's quite frustrating,
08:45 'cause I guess the centre-back position
08:47 is one where, obviously,
08:48 and the holding midfielder position,
08:49 where England haven't necessarily got
08:51 an abundance of talent there,
08:52 where if you're looking, for example, wingers,
08:54 you know, there's players like James Ward-Prowse,
08:56 who could play wide,
08:57 Jared Bowen, Soli March, for example,
08:58 and it's a bit harder in those positions
09:00 because there's more depth with Bukaya Sakho,
09:02 for example, Foden, Grealish,
09:04 and players like that.
09:05 But if you were a young player
09:07 trying to play for England,
09:08 and you saw Southgate maybe snubbing those options
09:10 to bring in players like Calvin Phillips and Maguire,
09:12 who I don't think have started a game this season,
09:14 how would you feel if you were a player trying to get--
09:16 - Yeah, it's a bit demoralising.
09:17 - Yeah. - A bit demoralising,
09:18 isn't it?
09:19 It kind of makes you think,
09:19 what do you have to do?
09:20 What extremes do you have to go to
09:22 to get into the England squad, really?
09:25 But yeah, I think, as you mentioned,
09:27 he probably is lacking in options
09:30 in those positions, maybe,
09:31 and you can maybe see that as a reason why.
09:33 But you mentioned James Ward-Prowse.
09:35 I think he is very unfortunate not to get in the team.
09:38 I know he's not exactly the same kind of position
09:40 as Phillips, but I would quite like to have seen him
09:43 get an option, set-piece specialist,
09:45 and kind of perfect for that.
09:47 Kind of last minute, maybe three kicks if he had one.
09:51 So I've always thought that,
09:52 and I think Jarrod Bowen's obviously very unlucky as well
09:54 not to get in the squad with the form that he's in.
09:56 He had two goals in the month,
09:58 near this end of the month just gone.
10:00 He's in great form.
10:01 So yes, it's a shame that he's not there.
10:03 But yeah, I should say, it's difficult for players
10:05 to get in when Southgate obviously does have the players
10:07 he trusts and he goes back to
10:10 when it comes to picking his teams.
10:12 - Yeah, I guess it's difficult,
10:13 'cause yeah, you wanna have the same players.
10:14 You want that cohesion,
10:16 and you kind of wanna treat it like a club,
10:17 'cause if you're always moving it around,
10:19 then it's not gonna really work.
10:20 But at the same time, Rio Ferdinand said this earlier
10:22 in the week, Maguire and Phillips,
10:24 they've just warmed up this season.
10:25 That's pretty much all they've done
10:26 is run up and down the touchline, warming up,
10:28 and they've got into the England squad,
10:29 and you've got players like Bowen,
10:30 scored three goals already this season in four games.
10:33 Ward-Prouse, I think he's got three assists in a goal.
10:36 And yeah, it's not great.
10:37 And just quickly, what would you give your score prediction
10:40 for the Ukraine game?
10:41 - Ukraine go, I'd say 4-1 to England.
10:44 I think 4-1, yeah, I think it might concede one.
10:47 But yeah, I think they'll grab a few goals.
10:50 - Perfect, so thank you for tuning in
10:51 to part one of Latest TV News.
10:53 Make sure you tune in later,
10:54 as we will be discussing Brighton's emphatic 3-1 victory
10:58 over Newcastle United.
10:59 Welcome back to Latest TV News.
11:09 I've got Sam Wharton with me here,
11:10 and we're gonna be talking a bit more
11:12 about Brighton's emphatic 3-1 victory
11:14 over Newcastle United.
11:15 And Sam, obviously, Newcastle win the Champions League,
11:18 almost seen as a rival to Brighton
11:20 in terms of their recent success,
11:21 and Brighton came out 3-1 victors.
11:23 - Yeah, as you say, an emphatic victory.
11:26 Just the better team, all the game, really,
11:29 just completely were back to their best.
11:32 I think, obviously, they had a difficult game
11:34 against West Ham, where they were hit on a counterattack,
11:36 but they really did learn from those kind of mistakes.
11:40 I think apart from a couple of dodgy moments
11:41 at the beginning of the game
11:42 when Newcastle could have scored,
11:45 I think through Ezek had a couple of good chances.
11:47 But from then on, Brighton really took control,
11:51 and were clinical, and we really saw that
11:53 with Evan Ferguson grabbing his first career hat-trick.
11:56 The youngest player since Michael Owen
11:57 to do that in the Premier League.
11:59 So it's incredible, and just kind of capped off
12:02 an amazing week for Brighton, really,
12:03 with the Europa League draw,
12:05 signing Antifati from Barcelona,
12:07 and then beating Newcastle 3-1
12:09 in your teenage star scoring hat-tricks.
12:12 It was the perfect week for Brighton, really,
12:13 and it's been a great start to the season all round,
12:15 obviously, apart from the West Ham blip as such,
12:17 but I think they've bounced back well from that.
12:19 - Yeah, I was gonna say, with West Ham, obviously,
12:21 a team that didn't really want the ball,
12:23 wanted Brighton to play, and frustrated them,
12:25 Newcastle wanted to do that from the start.
12:26 We were both at the game, we could see that from the start,
12:28 it felt like Fabien Chard, Dan Byrne, Nick Pope,
12:31 they wanted to frustrate the Brighton players.
12:34 They wanted to waste a little bit of time,
12:35 take their time with throw-ins, corners,
12:37 with goal-kicks and stuff,
12:38 and then obviously Brighton scored that goal,
12:40 and it kind of shook up that plan,
12:41 but it must be quite a relief for Brighton fans
12:43 to see that Roberto Dzerbi's almost learned
12:45 how to make the most of playing against a team
12:47 who wants to frustrate you,
12:48 and wants to leave you with the ball.
12:49 - Well, absolutely, I think Newcastle, obviously,
12:51 came into the game a bit out of form,
12:53 obviously had a really tough start to the season,
12:55 but was a great win against Villa,
12:57 and then obviously defeats against Man City,
12:59 and the pretty terrible defeat against Liverpool
13:02 in the circumstances that happened.
13:05 So they didn't come into the game in the best of form,
13:07 and Brighton probably knew that,
13:08 they obviously wanted to bounce back as well,
13:11 but I think Brighton really, as they showed last season,
13:13 when they had the bad defeat against Everton,
13:15 they bounced back brilliantly against Arsenal,
13:16 they've just got a habit of doing that,
13:18 just really trying to prove to everyone again
13:20 how good they can be,
13:21 and that the previous game wasn't themselves, really,
13:25 it wasn't them as they should be.
13:27 And once again, they were back at it completely.
13:30 Every player on the pitch, really, had a great game.
13:33 And it was great to see, and Newcastle, yeah,
13:35 they struggled to deal with it,
13:37 struggled to deal with Ferguson,
13:38 and again, they gave them far too much time and space.
13:40 I think the first goal, obviously,
13:41 was a terrible goal for Newcastle to concede,
13:44 but Ferguson just in the right place at the right time
13:47 to get on the end of the rebound,
13:49 obviously, after Pope fumbled it.
13:51 Second goal gave them too much space and time
13:53 outside the box to pick his spot,
13:54 and it was obviously an amazing finish.
13:56 Third one, Fabian Schaer didn't do the best of jobs, really,
14:01 trying to block that shot,
14:02 and obviously, it was kind of a half-hearted
14:04 little step in front of him,
14:06 and it just ricocheted off him and deceived Pope in the net.
14:09 So, yeah, I think Brighton really did take advantage
14:11 of the frailties in Newcastle's team, I think,
14:14 and just highlighted their credentials again.
14:17 - Yeah, and I thought it was really interesting,
14:19 'cause I was really in the programme before the game,
14:20 and De Zerby said he was actually impressed
14:22 with Brighton's performance against West Ham,
14:24 and I almost agree with him.
14:25 I think they played almost quite similarly.
14:27 They just didn't take their chances against West Ham,
14:29 and obviously, Areola had a fantastic game,
14:31 but we were saying Brighton kind of had three chances.
14:34 Nick Pope didn't do a whole lot
14:36 other than pick the ball out of the net, really,
14:38 and I think that's such a refreshing thing
14:39 for Brighton fans to see.
14:41 They're taking their chances.
14:42 They're hitting their XG
14:43 in something that they haven't been doing
14:44 in seasons gone by.
14:46 - Well, absolutely, yeah.
14:47 I think in seasons gone by,
14:48 Brighton have been known as the team
14:50 that are just winning the XG every game,
14:52 but struggling to score.
14:54 I think, obviously, in Graham Potter's era,
14:56 there were games when they would have 20, 25 shots
14:59 and would only get a goal, or not even that sometimes,
15:01 and they would often really pay the price for that
15:04 in the last couple of minutes of the game,
15:06 and their points tally wouldn't quite reflect
15:09 how positive the performances were.
15:12 So with that being considered,
15:13 I think De Zerby's done an amazing job, really.
15:16 I mean, obviously, it helps
15:16 that you've got someone like Evan Ferguson up top
15:19 that is as clinical as they come,
15:21 which is incredible for an 18-year-old,
15:23 and scary, really, about how good he can be.
15:26 But yeah, just having that kind of focal point,
15:29 and he doesn't even start every game.
15:30 If he's not 100% fit, you've got Jal Pedro.
15:33 It's obviously, he hasn't had the best of starts,
15:36 you wouldn't say.
15:37 He hasn't been as clinical.
15:38 I think he's missed a few chances,
15:39 but he can only get better, I think, as well.
15:42 And obviously, you've got Danny Wohlbeck as well,
15:44 who's, as we all know, extremely clinical,
15:47 really experienced.
15:49 So really nice kind of blend of talent there,
15:51 and Brighton have really got that kind of
15:53 sorted in that sense.
15:54 And obviously, now we've got Anssi Fati
15:56 to come into the mix as well,
15:57 which is extremely exciting,
15:58 and really looking forward to seeing how he gets on.
16:00 - And obviously, going back to Evan Ferguson,
16:02 his first career hat-trick,
16:04 extremely young player, 18 years old.
16:06 How do you think he'll be at the club in a year's time?
16:09 It's difficult to see how he would.
16:11 I think, as we've seen with Brighton,
16:13 I think if a player is performing at the level of Ferguson,
16:17 we do see that they do move on,
16:19 because the big clubs come calling,
16:20 and it's very difficult to say no.
16:22 But what we have seen with Albion is they do not
16:25 accept anything less than
16:27 the price that they want from them, really.
16:29 They've set a demand, and that's it.
16:31 Seen that with Kai Sedo,
16:32 and they would really not buckle on anything less
16:35 than what they wanted.
16:36 I think they even got more than what they wanted in the end.
16:39 So I think, absolutely, it's likely.
16:41 I think De Serbi admitted in his press conference
16:43 that it's normal for Brighton to sell their top players.
16:46 It was important as they replaced them,
16:48 and we've seen that time and time again.
16:51 I think, obviously, Ferguson might be difficult to replace.
16:54 I think he's got that kind of eye for goal
16:57 that we don't often see.
16:58 I think strikers like that are hard to come by.
17:00 So I think out of everyone that's left,
17:01 he could potentially be the hardest to replace.
17:04 As we've seen over the years,
17:06 strikers like that are so few and far between.
17:09 And at the age he is, it's something incredible, really.
17:13 I think the sky is the limit for him.
17:15 If he can keep developing,
17:16 keep going at the rate that he's going,
17:19 he can be anything he wants.
17:21 I think De Serbi said himself
17:22 he could be one of the top scorers in Europe,
17:24 and I absolutely agree with that.
17:25 I think he could really get to those levels.
17:27 I think De Serbi compared him to Cristiano Vieri,
17:29 the Italian legend, obviously, scorer.
17:33 And obviously, there's been talk of Alan Shearer as well.
17:36 You never know.
17:37 Obviously, Haaland's breaking all kinds of records
17:39 at the moment, but who says Ferguson can't hit that
17:43 in a few years?
17:44 He's 17 years old.
17:45 It's amazing, really, what he's doing.
17:47 - Yeah, he looks like a fantastic player, doesn't he?
17:49 And when we were watching him, I was thinking,
17:51 in my head, all these scenarios working through,
17:52 and I thought, he scored, I think, 10 Premier League goals
17:55 in 24 Premier League games.
17:56 He hasn't started a majority of those.
17:58 It's quite scary if you think,
17:59 if you put him into Man City's squad,
18:00 or a team like that, who are providing that service,
18:03 he could easily get about 30 goals a game,
18:05 30 goals a season, if he stayed fit.
18:07 And yeah, it's scary.
18:09 And he's such a well-rounded player.
18:10 We spoke about his goals, obviously.
18:12 Great reaction time, great positioning
18:13 for the first goal against Newcastle.
18:15 Second goal, they kind of stepped back
18:16 and went, "Go on, then, have a shot."
18:18 And he just curled it into the bottom corner
18:20 like he was three yards out.
18:21 He just so effortlessly just bent it round
18:23 into the corner. - Made it look easy.
18:24 - Yeah, made it look easy from distance.
18:26 And then for the third goal, he managed to get a shot off
18:28 when he was quite in a tight position,
18:29 and it sort of shows his versatility.
18:31 We've obviously seen he's so powerful in the air.
18:33 And 18 years old, I was watching him, thinking,
18:35 "How am I 24?
18:36 "How am I six years older than him?"
18:39 And he's probably twice my height, twice my width.
18:40 He's a monster, isn't he?
18:42 - Yeah, it's amazing.
18:43 I think what James Milner pointed out
18:45 in his interview of the game as well
18:47 is that he does the ugly side of the game as well.
18:49 So he isn't just one of those kind of, maybe,
18:51 luxury players that's hanging around the box
18:54 and just waiting to get a tap in and such.
18:56 He's running and he's putting players under pressure.
18:59 And he's doing that kind of side of the game
19:01 that makes life easier for his teammates.
19:03 And to have that, that kind of enthusiasm
19:05 and the effort levels on top of the talent,
19:08 yeah, I think he can really be anything he wants to be.
19:11 And it's so incredibly exciting.
19:13 Not just for Brighton, but just for the Premier League,
19:15 for football, really.
19:17 And having a player of his talent,
19:19 and long may it continue.
19:22 - Yeah, I'm definitely excited to see how it goes
19:23 and see how his Premier League
19:25 and international career goes.
19:26 And in terms of next year,
19:28 are there any teams you can see maybe having a look at him
19:30 and how much do you think they might wanna get him for him?
19:32 How much do you think Brighton
19:33 are gonna wanna sell him for?
19:34 - I think, well, if Kai Seder was going for 120,
19:38 I think Ferguson would be at least that, I think.
19:41 At least that and more.
19:42 I think there's been talk of him potentially being 200 million
19:44 but we'll see how that goes.
19:46 But I think in terms of clubs that may want him,
19:49 I think, take your pick, really.
19:51 I think there's so many clubs that are in need of a striker.
19:54 I think obviously Arsenal could potentially have him.
19:57 I think he'd be probably perfect for them
20:00 and can fit into their front line pretty seamlessly.
20:04 Same with Man United.
20:05 I think he's a Man United fan growing up.
20:08 So I think Man United fans are definitely really keen
20:10 for if he was to move on, for him to go there.
20:13 And I think they would snap it up if they had the chance,
20:17 really, if they had the funds to do so.
20:19 But I think any team, any team in the Premier League,
20:21 and we've seen Real Madrid sign Jude Bellingham,
20:24 you never know.
20:24 He could potentially go to someone like that.
20:26 And we've seen how many goals Bellingham's scored.
20:30 I think I couldn't put that past Ferguson, to be honest.
20:32 So I think not just the Premier League,
20:33 I think teams all over Europe will be looking
20:37 to sign Ferguson if the opportunity came.
20:40 But I really hope that Ferguson stays at Brighton,
20:43 obviously at least to the end of the season,
20:44 which I think he will.
20:45 He's obviously got a contract until 2028.
20:47 So that was so important for Brighton
20:49 to tie him down until then
20:50 and get the most amount of money as possible
20:52 when the time comes.
20:54 - Yeah, definitely.
20:55 I'm hoping he'll stay there for a little while
20:56 'cause I think Deserby's a fantastic coach.
20:58 Seems to be a great server at Brighton.
20:59 And we've seen players in the past, quite young,
21:02 showing a lot of potential
21:03 and they move maybe a bit prematurely
21:05 or move to not the right setup
21:06 and things don't work out for them.
21:08 On the topic of young talent,
21:10 Brighton have signed Ansu Fati from Barcelona.
21:13 I believe he's the youngest goal scorer
21:14 in Barcelona's history
21:15 and the youngest goal scorer
21:16 in the Spain's national team history.
21:18 How kind of surreal is it
21:19 that they've secured his services?
21:20 - Absolutely crazy, really.
21:21 I think the night it was announced,
21:23 it just almost came out of nowhere.
21:24 Just you didn't see it coming.
21:25 I think we were talking last week
21:26 about potential players that Brighton might sign
21:29 to replace Giulio and Cissé,
21:30 who's obviously out with a serious injury.
21:33 But no one in anyone's wildest dreams
21:36 would expect that Ansu Fati would be the man
21:37 to do that.
21:38 And it's difficult to see how he might even start.
21:41 I mean, that's the crazy thing of it.
21:43 Brighton are doing so well.
21:44 - Fantastic.
21:45 Brilliant.
