00:05 So we officially formed back in April of last year.
00:11 Basically just started off with a couple of us, but
00:14 after COVID, more and more people are wanting to get into sports.
00:19 So as you can tell behind us, we're a good group of people.
00:24 With us looking at going into National League, we actually need some more players.
00:31 A lot of misconception is you have to have a disability to play wheelchair
00:34 basketball, you don't.
00:36 So like a full able-bodied person's class of five pointer, and
00:40 five pointers all the way down to one pointer.
00:43 So anyone's really welcome to come along and try out and sign up to the club.
00:50 So I've been trying to actually get a wheelchair basketball team in Inverness for
00:56 the best part of 12 years.
00:57 I've had a good few attempts in the past and that before.
01:03 My background in wheelchair basketball is I played National League basketball
01:08 down in England, played for Bristol Pirates.
01:10 And then when I moved back, there was nothing here.
01:15 So I started wheelchair racing, but still had the park I was.
01:19 I really wanna do wheelchair basketball, so I've been fighting for this,
01:23 this up and running for about 10, 12 years, possibly even longer than that.
01:27 So we haven't really had a Scottish League running for
01:31 a good number of years, but we're actually gonna be getting a back up and
01:35 running in October.
01:38 So there's gonna be four teams entered into that, but
01:40 we've also got a couple of higher league,
01:44 Premier League teams that I'll play down in England,
01:49 Northern Division down there.
01:52 So currently in Scotland, I think we have about six or seven teams.
01:57 We're hoping to add to that.
01:58 We're the youngest team, not by age, but actually oldest team by age members.
02:07 But the youngest team when it comes to the league,
02:09 there's teams that have been established for 10, 12, 13 years.
02:13 So we're only two years into our journey, and we just wanna go from step to step.
02:18 But we really do need to get some more players in.
02:21 We wanna try and be able to have at least 15 players training regularly.
02:27 That's kinda our name of that now.
