Florida State Football Dominates Southern Mississippi

00:00 We got our next game. It was an 830 kick in the capital of the state of Florida, Tallahassee,
00:08 Florida State wins 66 to 13 over Southern Mississippi. They did so as 31 point favorites.
00:15 The total was 54. So Florida State look good, at least the offense here. And that's two
00:20 weeks in a row. I actually attended their week one win over LSU. It's a lot of fun in
00:26 Camping World Stadium. Now they head home, they blow out Southern Miss, they cover the
00:31 total by themselves, they cover the spread, almost doubled it here, Mark. So it's Mike
00:37 Norvell's Seminoles. Is this the are they back to what the 1993 Florida State Seminoles,
00:44 the 2013 National Championship Seminoles? I know their fan base is thinking they're
00:49 back. What are your thoughts here with FSU? Well, this is the prognostication I was talking
00:55 about before and I'm not a Florida State fan, but I'm going to say this right now. And I
01:02 believe I'll be correct when it's all said and done. There are two weeks of college football.
01:06 Florida State is the best team in the nation. And I don't think there's any doubt of that.
01:11 They're absolutely the best team in the country. And furthermore, this morning, I placed a
01:16 wager on Florida State to win the National Championship at nine to one. There is nothing
01:23 standing in their way. Now they have to go to Clemson in two weeks and face a team that
01:30 again, not 100% sure where Clemson is. But if Florida State wins that game, I can guarantee
01:36 you those odds at nine to one will be easily cut in half if not more than that. Because
01:42 that puts them straight in the ACC championship game because nobody's going to beat them.
01:47 They got a game against Miami later on down the road, but it's home. Who else? Are you
01:54 worried about the Wake Forest or the Pitt? Nope. But they get Duke at home. I mean, they
01:59 travel to the swamp to play Florida. And finally, we know Florida's not that good. So there's
02:05 not another game. Going to Death Valley to play Clemson is the only trip up spot they
02:10 have left. If they clear that at that point in time, again, for my money, right now, through
02:17 two weeks of college football, Florida State is absolutely the best team in the nation.
02:21 And they are going to prove it again this week against Boston College. And I think they'll
02:24 prove it against Clemson. This is a team right now that is earmarked for 12 and 0 ACC champion
02:31 in college football playoff.
02:34 I'll say this, Mark. I don't know if I'm ready to say the best team in college football,
02:40 but where they sit right now, they, in my mind, have the easiest path to the playoff
02:47 considering what conference they play in and outlining their schedule, their big games,
02:52 Miami. I mean, Duke looks to be improved, but they get them at home. And that's huge.
02:57 This Clemson game on the road might have to watch out. But I mean, you kind of alluded
03:01 to it. Clemson doesn't look like the same team. And then in the ACC championship, whoever
03:05 they would have to play, I think they make it to the college football playoff. I really
03:10 do, Mark.
03:13 And here's the other thing, too. This isn't really even about the Florida State offense,
03:21 which is really good. Their defense is so good. Their defense is Georgia good. Is it
03:28 fair to say that? They don't play in ACC schedule, but their defense is Georgia good.
