00:00 Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of the press.
00:04 With me here are my colleague governors, Governor Gladys Wanga of Omobe,
00:08 Governor Chirayako Migori,
00:11 and Governor Simba Arati from Kisi.
00:15 We met here today just to have a discussion
00:21 as a Zimio governor coming from this region.
00:25 The Governor of Trans-Oya could not make it because of some other commitment.
00:30 Our friend Governor Nyaribo from Nyamira was indisposed.
00:35 Otherwise we were full house,
00:38 consulting and sharing notes with our party leader and the Zimio leader,
00:42 Raitone Raila Molo Dinga.
00:46 The current situation in the country and in the region
00:52 is some of the issues that we need to raise that concern us
00:58 in terms of development, in terms of politics, in terms of international affairs.
01:04 It was a free discussion that people contributed
01:10 and we had a very fruitful discussion.
01:14 They are trying to sell their own politics to us,
01:17 but we know for certain that we are in a Zimio
01:20 and we have the vision bearer
01:24 who has always been the father of change and progress in the nation.
01:30 There is no other party, no other coalition that can do it better than the Zimio.
01:35 So no wind can blow us apart.
01:39 No earthquake can shake our foundation.
01:43 And therefore rest assured that though that be the case,
01:48 it does not disturb us at all.
01:52 And secondly, we did definitely talk about a lot of economic issues,
01:59 transportation on the lake,
02:01 how we can link our ports and beaches,
02:04 like used to happen in the East African community days,
02:07 what investments are needed,
02:10 investment in agriculture, particular research,
02:13 and the access to capital.
02:16 And I think those are pertinent issues
02:19 that will perhaps come out in a communique eventually
02:22 as a report of this meeting.
02:25 Thank you very much.
02:27 Smadgeg!
02:31 Thank you.
02:32 Thank you.
