00:02 All right, so a hearing yesterday was denied,
00:06 which potentially within seven days
00:09 enables the Hard Rock app,
00:12 owned by the Seminoles, to relaunch.
00:15 They go on social media yesterday,
00:17 they post the meme or GIF or whatever
00:20 of the Undertaker coming out of the coffin
00:22 as if they're gonna relaunch this app.
00:23 So that tells me that there's a chance,
00:26 Matthew, there's a chance that this could happen.
00:28 But there's been a chance that this could happen
00:30 like eight times.
00:31 And all eight times,
00:32 different things have gone the other way.
00:34 I know the Supreme Court
00:35 is even potentially involved in this.
00:37 I don't know that there's an easy explanation,
00:40 but the easiest one is the one that I would ask you to give.
00:43 (laughs)
00:44 - Yeah, let's see about that.
00:46 So let's start from the beginning.
00:48 Hard Rock and the Seminole Tribe
00:50 launched sports betting in Florida.
00:52 There were a couple of people that were unhappy with that.
00:54 One specifically, the West Flagler Associates,
00:57 they're involved in Florida gaming.
00:59 They wanted a piece of the pie as well.
01:01 You get this lawsuit
01:03 and basically through multiple steps,
01:05 through yesterday,
01:07 West Flagler was asking for the case to be reheard again
01:12 by all of the judges for the DC Circuit Court of Appeal,
01:16 giving them bank hearing,
01:17 and they were denied that.
01:20 So here's where we stand.
01:21 Technically, if Hard Rock wants to,
01:24 which I have a funny feeling they do,
01:27 they could be live,
01:30 I believe, by next Monday's Monday Night Football game,
01:35 Craig.
01:35 Now, that would be obviously
01:37 if they held that seven-day notice exactly to the team.
01:41 Maybe they wait for next week or the Thursday night game,
01:44 but you're right.
01:45 There's been a whole lot of,
01:47 well, maybe could they, can't they?
01:49 But now we finally are at the point where we can say,
01:52 yeah, sports betting in Florida should be back up
01:56 and running next week,
01:58 completely legal through Hard Rock,
02:00 and then we have to wait and see what happens.
02:03 West Flagler still can appeal to the Supreme Court.
02:06 It's not expected that if they appeal to the Supreme Court
02:11 that they would be granted a stay,
02:13 which means that Hard Rock would again have to take that
02:16 down and stop taking the bets.
02:20 So, and it's hard to get on the Supreme Court schedule.
02:25 I mean, that's another topic in and of itself.
02:27 So right now, what we see,
02:30 what we have for the foreseeable future,
02:32 in my eyes, appears to be legal sports betting in Florida
02:37 unless the Supreme Court in a year, maybe later,
02:42 unless they decide to step in.
02:44 So, Craig, it looks great for everybody in Florida.
02:48 You down in Miami, get a couple bets down next week.
02:51 I think that's honestly, legitimately
02:54 what we're looking at at this point.
