Roger Hoover describes having Eli Gold and a healthy broadcast booth back in 2023
Transcript
00:00 big celebrations as Eli Gold was welcome back into the broadcast booth.
00:04 He was always welcome, but he really was healthy enough to return to his
00:09 traditional role as the play by play guy.
00:12 And I just wanna get your perspective and opinion.
00:14 Look, we saw a huge game day piece on Eli Gold and really everybody who knows
00:19 Alabama football knows Eli Gold and really has a memory in their brain of what he
00:23 means to them.
00:24 Anytime I think Eli Gold, I think the Rogers in this grand old stadium,
00:29 from the 2009 National Championship game.
00:32 I just wanna open the floor.
00:34 How's Eli Gold?
00:35 How's it been working with him again?
00:37 And really just what it means to have him back in the broadcast booth with you guys.
00:41 >> It's been outstanding.
00:42 Eli's done really well through the first two games.
00:45 Did very well too when we did some mock broadcast of the scrimmages earlier in
00:49 August as well as we kind of welcomed in not only Eli back to the broadcast booth
00:53 after missing a year due to health challenges.
00:55 But also privileged to welcome Tyler Watson as our new color analyst.
00:59 He has done an amazing job for us for years and years and
01:02 years on pre and post game shows on the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
01:05 He and Chris Stewart used to team up for some of the pay-per-view games or
01:09 some of the CSS playback games that they used to do before the SEC network came
01:13 into existence in 2014.
01:15 So he's fitting well.
01:16 We've had Christian Miller on the sidelines.
01:18 Once again, we'd certainly love that.
01:19 And then Chris as well, getting to call the road games while Eli calls the home
01:23 games and we've got the best of everything we really feel like this year.
01:26 And we've certainly missed Eli over the past year.
01:29 We missed Chris a few years ago when he went through some of his health challenges.
01:32 So to have everybody healthy, working for
01:35 the Crimson Tide Sports Network is really the biggest plus.
