00:02 - Hey, it's People in 10.
00:06 Starting with a burning question on everyone's mind.
00:09 And I know exactly who to call for this one.
00:11 (phone ringing)
00:13 - Hey Mako, what can I do for you?
00:15 - Hey Dory, okay listen,
00:16 I know you've seen the Summer House email
00:18 officially canceling Carl and Lindsay's wedding.
00:21 It's over.
00:22 Now, Carl signed it,
00:23 'cause we know the letter came from him.
00:24 But I'm wondering, where's Lindsay in all of this?
00:26 - Well, we do know that Lindsay was in Portugal
00:28 for a friend's wedding at the time that the email went out.
00:31 And in that letter that was sent to all the wedding guests,
00:34 Carl basically said that Lindsay's devastated,
00:36 he's crushed by how everything went down,
00:39 but she herself has not made an official statement just yet.
00:42 - She hasn't made a statement,
00:43 but I've been snooping on her Instagram
00:45 and she did make some kind of statement, right?
00:47 - Maybe that's a statement without making a real statement.
00:50 She has been deleting and unpenning all mentions of Carl,
00:53 which is just so sad because they were so cute together.
00:56 I am very curious to see what happens next for them.
00:58 But what I can say is that we do know
01:01 that they were filming season eight of Summer House
01:03 not that long ago.
01:04 I don't know if it's done yet,
01:05 but hopefully we'll get to see something on air.
01:08 - And that BravoCon is gonna be messy,
01:10 I can guarantee that.
01:12 Well, listen, Dory,
01:13 thank you so much for breaking it down for us.
01:14 I appreciate you.
01:15 - Anytime, girl.
01:16 - All right, bye.
01:18 All that tea is making me hungry
01:21 for the celeb craving of the week.
01:23 Meghan Markle said, "Treat yourself."
01:25 Now she pulled up to an In-N-Out drive-thru in Cali.
01:28 Now we don't exactly know what she ordered,
01:30 but we do know that it is Prince Harry's favorite fast food.
01:33 And he wasn't even with her.
01:35 What the heck?
01:36 But don't worry,
01:37 she didn't actually sneak out
01:38 for a cheeseburger without him.
01:40 He was in Germany for the Invictus Games
01:42 and she flew out to join him just one day later.
01:46 Who doesn't love a secret celeb wedding,
01:48 even if it is the sexiest man alive we're talking about?
01:51 Aw, Chris, you got hearts breaking everywhere, man.
01:54 - Being content is the ultimate goal.
01:56 - Well, he's content all right.
01:58 He married Alba Batista in Cape Cod this weekend
02:01 and his famous friends were all there to celebrate.
02:03 Then party the night away at Chris's Boston area home.
02:07 - I'm just happy being at home.
02:09 - Amen.
02:10 We're happy, you're happy.
02:12 Y'all, we got a new champion in the house.
02:14 Coco Gauff won her first Grand Slam trophy
02:17 at this year's US Open.
02:19 And what were you doing when you were 19?
02:23 - It's now or never.
02:24 It's your time and that's what I told myself.
02:26 - We never doubted she could get it done,
02:28 but the new go did get a pep talk from her man
02:30 the night before, which seems like it did the trick
02:33 'cause she served, if you know what I mean.
02:36 Another New York fashion week is in the bag
02:39 and the ultimate status symbol,
02:41 well, who's in that front row?
02:43 Michael Kors and Christian Siriano were packed
02:45 with famous face after famous face after famous face,
02:48 but the show of the week has to be Ralph Lauren.
02:51 It was the starriest front row of the season.
02:54 Julianne Moore sat next to JLo.
02:56 Who sat next to Diane Keaton?
02:57 Who sat next to Amanda Seyfried?
02:59 - Ooh la la.
03:00 - With Gabrielle Union, Cheryl Crow,
03:02 and Laura Dern not far away.
03:04 And we see you too, Carrie, Mindy, Emma, and Cara.
03:07 I'm sneaking my way in next year.
03:09 It's happening.
03:10 We sang "I Want You Back" and "N Sync Listen."
03:13 Ah, sort of.
03:14 They reunited at the VMAs to present Taylor Swift an award
03:18 and her new signature, some friendship bracelets,
03:21 and Tay Tay was all of us.
03:23 So she was fangirling on stage
03:25 and admitting that she had the N Sync dolls while growing up.
03:28 And also she asked the million dollar question,
03:30 what's gonna happen now?
03:31 I hope that this leads to a new song, huh?
03:34 Maybe a tour, right?
03:36 I mean, they haven't had a new single together
03:38 in more than two decades.
03:39 It's about time.
03:41 Our photo dump of the week comes from Beach Bum,
03:43 Jennifer Aniston.
03:44 She's saying, "See you later to summer,"
03:46 with the help of her friends, Jason Bateman,
03:48 Jimmy Kimmel, and their wives.
03:50 And can we take a moment for Jen's cute pups?
03:53 Oh, they're so adorable.
03:54 We can never get enough of them.
03:56 (dog barking)
03:58 We're talking money for this next one.
04:00 Now, a historic home enthusiast in California
04:03 bought the Brady Bunch house from its previous owner, HGTV.
04:07 And let's just say she's throwing a little shade.
04:09 She says the network made the worst investment ever.
04:12 Her words, because the house,
04:14 which she calls a life-size doll house,
04:16 didn't even have modern conveniences like appliances.
04:19 An interesting take from someone
04:21 who also spent over $3 million for it.
04:24 - It seems to me that things are getting
04:25 slightly out of hand around here.
04:28 - But she claims she's not actually gonna live there.
04:30 She just plans to use it for charitable events.
04:33 Our quote of the week is from Jill Duggar Dillard,
04:36 who's come a long way from 19 Kids and Counting.
04:39 She writes in her new memoir about the moment
04:41 she finally stood up to her dad, Jim Bob,
04:43 after being scolded for wearing pants and a nose ring.
04:46 She said, "I'm evolving and changing,
04:48 but you can't see it.
04:49 You treat me like I'm a prodigal
04:51 who's turned her back on you.
04:52 You treat me worse than you treat my pedophile brother."
04:55 Now that's a reference to her older brother, Josh,
04:57 who's in prison on child pornography charges.
05:00 Really tough stuff there.
05:01 Now, Jill says she has found happiness at the age of 32
05:04 with her husband, Derek, and their three boys.
05:07 We are so glad to hear that.
05:09 It's time for the sit down with Jonathan Bennett.
05:11 Hi, Jonathan.
05:12 - I'm so excited to be here.
05:13 - You have so much going on right now,
05:15 like hosting the Food Network's Battle of the Decades.
05:18 What's your favorite food decade so far?
05:20 - I grew up in the '80s and I was a teenager in the '90s.
05:24 So like each one of the things brings a different
05:27 like love to it.
05:29 Like, you know, growing up in the '80s,
05:30 we had chemicals in all of our food
05:32 and like my parents just fed me like candy
05:35 with like red and blue dye in it.
05:37 Like it was no big deal.
05:38 You know, like we just ate whatever it was
05:39 because that's what you did as a kid in the '80s.
05:41 So like that kind of like artificial flavor
05:45 that a lot of people mind and don't really like,
05:47 I don't really mind it 'cause I grew up eating it
05:49 and my tongue's kind of used to it.
05:51 But then you get to the '90s and you know,
05:53 being a teenager, we had like clear Pepsi.
05:56 It was like trying to find the new things in the '90s,
05:59 the hot things.
06:00 So I'd say the '80s were my favorite food decade
06:02 'cause growing up, like that's when I got to eat
06:04 all the junk food and you had metabolism
06:06 'cause you were seven.
06:08 So like you could just eat whatever you want
06:10 and as much of it as you want and you were fine.
06:12 So I'm gonna go with the '80s.
06:15 - Between you and hubby, who's a better cook?
06:18 - Let's talk about James' eating habits for a second.
06:21 My husband is six foot four.
06:24 He eats more food than I have ever seen anyone eat
06:28 in my life.
06:29 We will get back from dinner and we will walk in
06:31 from a giant like, you know, we'll go have like
06:33 a great Mexican restaurant and have like chips and salsa
06:36 and so much food and dessert and we'll come home
06:39 and the first thing he will do is walk to the refrigerator
06:41 and open it and he's like, oh, I'm hungry.
06:43 He just eats like no one else.
06:45 So as far as cooking, like I would say I'm the better cook.
06:50 We don't cook a lot but if we do cook,
06:54 I'm the better cook.
06:55 - I love following you and James on social.
06:57 Y'all have the best travel picks.
06:59 What is the one place you went to recently
07:01 that took your breath away?
07:02 - Oh man, we just got back from Amsterdam Pride
07:05 and it's nothing like I've ever seen before.
07:07 Like the whole city shuts down and comes out for Pride
07:10 and it's not just queer people.
07:11 It's people of all different everythings
07:15 all coming there to celebrate.
07:16 You know, you have straight couples with their kids
07:18 and gay couples with their kids
07:19 and it's just a celebration of the queer community
07:24 and there's absolutely nothing like it.
07:26 Like Amsterdam Pride is one of the best things
07:29 I've ever done in my life and if you ever get a chance to go
07:32 I highly recommend it.
07:33 - It's almost spooky season, which is the perfect time
07:36 for a new season of Halloween Wars.
07:38 So I'd love to know, what's your spooky style?
07:41 Are you more into horror or gore
07:43 or do you like more whimsical and make-believe?
07:45 - I love all Halloween.
07:48 I mean, I host Halloween Wars
07:49 so I'm very into the Halloween season
07:52 but I like to dress up like Broadway characters.
07:55 So I don't think I fit in any of those categories.
07:57 I don't go gory and I don't go whimsical.
08:00 I'm like, I'm gonna be Elphaba from "Wicked"
08:02 and that's what I'm gonna do.
08:03 - Have you ever dressed up as one of your iconic characters?
08:06 I mean, Aaron Samuels, hello.
08:08 - No, I can't.
08:11 I can't. - No, why?
08:12 - Because I've already done it.
08:14 Like, no, no, no, no.
08:15 But I'm looking forward to this Halloween
08:18 maybe dressing up like an iconic character
08:20 but I don't wanna say which one
08:21 but I think I might be doing something really funny
08:23 and iconic this Halloween.
08:24 - Speaking of mean girls, I'm sure you know
08:27 that Lindsay Lohan just had a baby.
08:29 Have you talked to her?
08:30 Have you texted her?
08:31 - Oh my gosh, Messenger, congratulations.
08:34 I'm just so proud of that girl.
08:36 Like, she's so wonderful
08:38 and she's really built her life to this amazing place
08:41 and to know her when she was 16, 17 years old
08:45 and then to see her just so in love
08:48 and starting a family and getting to have
08:50 that whole journey for her is so awesome.
08:52 So I'm just thrilled.
08:53 - I love the baby's name, Luh-I.
08:55 What kind of mom do you think she'll be?
08:57 - Well, first of all, I petitioned for the baby
09:00 to be named Jonathan but that didn't happen,
09:02 but that's fine.
09:03 What kind of mom?
09:04 I mean, are we really gonna say it?
09:06 We have to.
09:07 She's not gonna be a regular mom.
09:08 She's gonna be a cool mom.
09:09 Duh.
09:11 - And finally, pick one of your upcoming projects
09:13 and tell people why they should check it out
09:15 in 10 seconds.
09:16 Go.
09:17 - Okay, I want everyone to check out
09:18 "Battle of the Decades" airing on Food Network.
09:21 It's my new show where we take old school chefs
09:23 and new school chefs and make them tackle viral sensations
09:27 and old school dishes.
09:29 - It's a very fetch looking dish.
09:32 - Stop trying to make fetch happen.
09:33 It's not gonna happen.
09:34 - Jonathan, thank you so much for joining me today.
09:36 - "Battle of the Decades" is airing now
09:38 and "Halloween Wars" is premiering on September 17th
09:41 on the Food Network.
09:42 (upbeat music)
