00:02 - I wanna ask you specifically two things.
00:05 One, you talk about Dallas,
00:07 like literally like they're world beaters.
00:10 And you already picked the Eagles over Dallas
00:14 in that division.
00:15 If they're so good,
00:17 how can you pick the Eagles who lost five guys on defense
00:21 to be better than the Cowboys?
00:22 What, because their offense is better?
00:24 There's nothing wrong with Dallas' offense or defense.
00:27 And the second question I have for you is,
00:30 I think the Jets defense is as good as Dallas' defense.
00:35 - It is great.
00:36 - I mean, I think the Jets defense is violent.
00:38 And I think Dallas is fast and effective,
00:41 like speed defense.
00:43 I think the Jets defense is a violent physical defense.
00:47 - Here's the problem with the Cowboys.
00:49 It's not a talent issue.
00:50 It's not a coaching issue.
00:52 It's handling success.
00:53 This has plagued Jerry Jones' team for years.
00:56 Something seems to happen in key moments.
00:58 You and I on SportsGrid two years ago,
01:01 when they choked against the Niners at home in the playoffs,
01:04 they always have a good roster.
01:07 This year, they're fantastic on paper.
01:09 And Dan Quinn, by the way,
01:11 will be one of the top head coaching candidates
01:12 doing a phenomenal job with their defense,
01:13 calling the games.
01:15 Something seems to happen.
01:16 Now, the word around the league is,
01:17 it's a football character issue with some of these players.
01:19 Entitlement, off the field problems,
01:22 handling themselves correctly,
01:23 handling success correctly.
01:25 Something seems to happen with this team.
01:27 But the one thing playing in their favor is,
01:30 we have not had a repeat winner in the NFC East since 2004.
01:34 It's been 20 years, Pharrell.
01:35 Individual with just four teams, how's that even possible?
01:38 - I just don't care about all that witchcraft.
01:43 I don't care about all the,
01:45 oh, no team's ever done it before.
01:46 You and I both took the Niners in that playoff game
01:50 in Dallas.
01:51 And I bet against Dallas again last year in the playoffs.
01:55 I don't disagree with you,
01:56 but basically you said to me on this show today
02:01 that it's gonna be ugly.
02:03 And I'm not sure why it would be so ugly.
02:07 'Cause what you're basically saying to me
02:09 is that Zach Wilson sucks and they have no chance,
02:11 and Dallas is gonna blow them out.
02:13 And I think their defense is not gonna have any of that.
02:16 I kind of feel like Salah and the Jets
02:20 have a chip on their shoulder like,
02:22 okay, everyone's written us off now.
02:24 Let's go soccer punch someone right in the mouth.
02:28 I think they're gonna play that kind of football.
02:30 Like, okay, you think we suck?
02:32 Watch this.
02:33 Good luck scoring against us.
02:35 I mean, the Buffalo Bills looked so awful
02:38 against that defense the other night.
02:40 I sat there and I watched it.
02:41 I was like, I literally watched the Jets defense.
02:43 Like I almost swear to God,
02:45 it felt like I was watching the '85 Bears.
02:48 - I know.
02:49 The issue though,
02:50 when you look at this situation with the Jets,
02:53 Zach Wilson, there was a reason
02:55 why they made the trade for Aaron Rodgers.
02:56 They knew he couldn't be the guy
02:57 to bring him to the Super Bowl.
02:58 Let's call it like it is.
03:00 Zach Wilson is a talented kid, plays too fast.
03:02 Here's the knock on him.
03:04 Plays way too fast.
03:05 He's like he's on five cups of coffee.
03:08 You gotta calm down, get the ball out of his hands quickly.
03:10 Don't let him think.
03:11 When he overthinks, he makes mistakes.
03:13 You saw that awful interception
03:14 against his own defense, zone drops,
03:16 against the Bills on Monday nights.
03:20 You don't wanna put it on him
03:21 'cause you could say all you want
03:22 about how great their defense is, and it is.
03:25 But if he has to win the game, can he win it?
03:27 If the game's in the fourth quarter,
03:29 high lever situation, can he win the game?
03:30 He hasn't shown he can do that yet.
03:31 Let's call it like it is.
03:33 That's why I struggle to believe
03:36 that they cannot go after a veteran quarterback.
03:39 Yes, they're gonna go with Wilson going forward here.
03:41 But if they're two and five
03:42 and it's not about their defenses,
03:43 about Zach Wilson, are you kidding me?
03:46 You need a fallback option.
03:47 They have to add a veteran quarterback at some point here.
