Bears' Passing Game Woes and Fantasy Updates | Week 1 Analysis

00:02 - Yeah, I mean, the immediate thing we learned in week one
00:05 is that the Bears passing game,
00:07 it is not the new and improved Bears passing game.
00:10 Justin Fields ate a bunch of sacks
00:12 through some horrible interceptions,
00:14 looked to run too early.
00:16 I guess maybe the big difference between Fields in 2022
00:19 and what he did in week one in 2023
00:21 was he was willing to check it down
00:23 to the running backs a little bit more often.
00:26 Khalil Herbert got five targets,
00:27 Roshon Johnson, my guy from the University of Texas,
00:30 got six.
00:31 Cole Comet actually led all tight ends
00:33 in expected fantasy points
00:35 'cause he got targeted in the end zone twice,
00:37 didn't come down with either one of them.
00:40 Look, I wanted to like Justin Fields,
00:43 and I still do.
00:44 I like a young, electric running quarterback,
00:48 but I just don't know if it's gonna happen for him.
00:51 I think he just eats too many sacks.
00:53 He does not do a good job eliminating negative plays.
00:58 On the other side of the game,
00:59 Baker Mayfield seems like he will be perfectly fine
01:02 to keep Mike Evans and Chris Godwin
01:04 in your starting lineup for fantasy football.
01:06 Kate Otten played almost every snap at tight end,
01:09 really low-end fantasy starter there.
01:12 Rashad White almost set an NFL next-gen stats record
01:17 for rushing yards under expectation,
01:19 minus 39 1/2 yards under expectation
01:23 based on the carries that he got.
01:25 I do think we will probably see Sean Tucker
01:27 out of Syracuse sooner rather than later.
01:30 And in fact, Tucker played a little bit more in week one.
01:33 I actually thought he might be a healthy scratch
01:35 and they would just play Keishon Vaughn and Chase Edmonds,
01:37 but that is not what happened.
01:39 So those are the main fantasy things to look out for there.
01:42 I guess, honestly, I do not have DJ Moore in any league,
01:45 but if I did, I might bench him here.
01:48 And if he goes off on your bench,
01:49 that's kind of best-case scenario
01:51 'cause it means that he's fine.
01:53 But man, two targets in your debut game.
01:56 And I think they'll probably try
01:57 and force-feed him some stuff here,
01:59 but it does not feel that optimistic.
