00:02 To the Motor City yesterday after an opening season win over the Kansas City
00:08 Chiefs on the road in the home of the defending champions.
00:11 A Motor City debut for the Lions and Donnie when the Seahawks and
00:16 Lions face off, it is points aplenty.
00:19 A total of 47 and a half sails over as the Seahawks storm back
00:24 with a second half that was much different than their second half week number one.
00:29 37-31 in overtime, a six yard TD toss from Gino Smith to Tyler Lockett.
00:35 Was that winner on the opening possession of that extra session?
00:39 Donnie, 68 combined points between these teams.
00:43 We saw 93 between them last year in the opening month of the regular season.
00:48 That was a 48-45 win for Seattle, making three straight victories for
00:53 the Seahawks over the Lions too, a big offensive affair yesterday in Detroit.
00:58 Loved what I saw out of the Seahawks.
00:59 I mean, you wanna talk about coming back on the road in a hostile environment with
01:02 that crowd feel like it's been waiting 25 years for a good football team to show up.
01:06 And they actually did, but
01:08 equally impressive performance across the board.
01:10 We thought there was gonna be points in this game, Ben.
01:11 They end up with 68 total points, which was so much fun to watch.
01:15 Jared got through 35 times, 325, excuse me, 323 yards.
01:19 You take a look at Gino Smith, 41 times for 328 yards.
01:22 They combined for five touchdown passes and only one interception.
01:26 They certainly did the time there.
01:27 By the way, David Montgomery going down, 16 carries,
01:30 67 yards and a touchdown before he left.
01:32 That could have been a contributing factor late in that game.
01:34 Jameer Gibbs only seven carries on the ground for 17 yards.
01:37 But when you talk about game, you can't go 0-2 in the NFL.
01:40 You just can't do it, including losing two conference games.
01:43 And if you take a look at the Seattle Seahawks,
01:45 getting that victory was absolutely massive.
01:47 Now flip it over to the Detroit Lions side.
01:49 This is one of those games you had to win at home.
01:51 You were supposed to win.
01:52 You were favored to win it.
01:53 Also, you had the lead for primarily all of that game.
01:56 And you let it slip away late.
01:57 But again, credit those Seattle Seahawks here.
01:59 I was equally impressive.
02:01 Their season's certainly not over.
02:02 But also, from a Lions perspective, buckle up your seatbelt, Ben.
02:06 Because if we watch these 17 games, it feels like a lot of these
02:09 are going to come down to the end.
02:10 Because the Lions don't have a very good defense.
02:12 For overbackers and prop backers, they're a sensational football team.
02:18 (upbeat music)
