Joe Nicholson reacts following Sunderland's 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park
Transcript
00:00 Outside Ewood Park where Sunderland have beaten Blackburn Rovers 3-1 to make it 3 wins in a row for Tony Mowbray's side.
00:09 The first time they've done that since they were promoted back to the championship and it was a difficult game at times tonight for Sunderland.
00:17 They had to withstand a lot of pressure particularly in that first half from a Blackburn side that were very offensive.
00:23 It was a very end-to-end game at times but Sunderland withstood that early pressure and took the lead through Jack Clark in the 28th minute when he was fouled in the box and then converted a penalty.
00:33 He was outstanding again tonight, Clark really. A constant threat for Sunderland on the break and going forward down that left-hand side.
00:40 But Blackburn managed to equalise shortly after Clark's opener when a cross from the right from Callum Britton was converted by Harry Leonard.
00:48 It looked like it was going to be one-all at half-time but Sunderland for the second game in a row scoring right on the stroke of half-time just as they did against QPR on Saturday.
00:59 This time it was Dan Neal who got the goal to put Sunderland ahead after Alex Pritchard's in-swing corner.
01:04 The ball fell to Neal on the edge of the box, he took one touch and then finished it in the bottom corner.
01:08 A slightly deeper role for him tonight with Sunderland making one change from the side that did play at QPR with Pierre Equart out injured.
01:16 Joe Bellingham dropped a bit further back and Alex Pritchard came in in the number 10 position.
01:22 The game was still really end-to-end in the second half, both teams creating chances.
01:27 Anthony Patterson, the Sunderland goalkeeper, had a couple of saves to make as Blackburn did have opportunities and looked like a real threat going forward.
01:35 But it was Sunderland who put the game to bed with around 12 minutes to go.
01:38 Clark again, another excellent goal from him after Patrick Roberts and Alex Pritchard combined. Roberts came off the bench replacing Mason Bursto in the second half.
01:47 And those three, Roberts, Pritchard and Clark combined towards the end. Clark then coming in from the left-hand side and converting with his right foot to seal the points for Sunderland.
01:57 So another big win for Tony Mowbray's side.
01:59 As I said, three in a row now after the win over QPR and the win over Southampton. And they'll now go again when they host Cardiff at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
