00:03 A serial shoplifter has been banned from entering Chesterfield town centre after a series of theft from local shops.
00:10 Neil Watts was arrested after the thefts from shops in the town centre, including raids on Tesco Express and Boots the Chemist.
00:17 He was charged and appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop.
00:24 The 45 year old was handed an 8 week prison sentence as well as a criminal behaviour order that bans him from a specific part of the town centre which is covered by the court ruling.
00:34 He will be arrested if he enters the area without a pre-booked appointment for the next two years.
00:40 A Derbyshire dog festival that was cancelled due to safety concerns for pets during the heatwave is now going ahead this weekend.
00:48 The event had originally been scheduled for the start of the month but was postponed because of fears for the health of dogs taking part during the intense heat.
00:56 The rescheduled event will now take place at Homebrook Valley Park in Chesterfield on Sunday September 24th where there will be free admission for the fun dog show for all the family.
01:06 Starting at 11am and running until 4pm, all the dog classes cost £2 per entry for dog owners and classes and fun events for your four legged friends include a puppy parade, a best ball catcher, golden oldie and an obedience competition.
01:20 Festival organiser Amanda Copeland said "We are hoping to attract 1,000 visitors on the day with three rings of dog classes, a fancy dress for competition at noon and an exciting addition for this year is fly ball which all dogs can have a go at".
