00:00 A long-standing, growing relationship with the United States front and centre.
00:07 They see us as dependable and they see our industry as capable.
00:13 And I see the economic opportunity flowing from this as just about unstoppable.
00:18 But the Chief Minister is again taking aim at her interstate foes, this time over a Senate
00:24 inquiry into the Middle Arms Sustainable Development Precinct near Darwin.
00:29 Because who needs rigorous, world-leading environmental baseline assessments backed
00:34 by in-depth scientific research when we can have what I would say would be attention-seeking
00:40 senators on a soapbox.
00:42 But anyway.
00:43 In her annual address to the Northern Territory's business sector, Natasha Files has again hit
00:48 out at Canberra politicians, railing against the project at Middle Arm, but ultimately
00:54 welcomes the inquiry and the scrutiny.
00:57 It's an opportunity for us to explain exactly why Middle Arm matters.
01:01 The Territory's housing squeeze was also on the agenda, with the Chief Minister announcing
01:06 her support for a new Northern Territory Housing Alliance.
01:10 Set to be made up of local industry leaders and government agencies, the alliance will
01:14 provide recommendations and ideas about getting new homes off the ground.
01:20 The proposal already gaining the support of housing advocates.
01:24 This is an excellent opportunity with the amount of housing that's being committed to,
01:28 to make sure we don't leave anybody behind.
01:30 But the CLP is casting doubt on how the government will speed up construction on new homes and
01:36 entice more workers to the Territory amid the region's current crime problems.
01:41 We need to get those workers here to be able to build those homes and at the moment crime
01:45 is out of control, our reputation is in tatters.
01:47 The state of the Territory promised to be in good hands.
