00:04 Chargers plus seven and a half on a teaser, leave me alone,
00:07 I don't wanna talk about this anymore.
00:09 And to put that into perspective, in Justin Herbert's young career in coin flip
00:13 games, if you will, right, where the spread is three or less either direction,
00:17 Herbert's covered 39% of the time, that's abysmal.
00:20 Well, Kirk Cousins covered 43% of the times, they're both pretty bad in this
00:24 spot, but that isn't even really the point of it all here.
00:28 It's the fact that we have two teams that have both started 0 and 2,
00:32 that were both in the postseason last year.
00:35 Now, Minnesota taking a step back was always expected,
00:37 win total eight and a half, we knew that last year they were frogs.
00:40 By the time that team showed up to the postseason, it was pretty much unanimous,
00:44 right, that they were a fraudulent group.
00:46 Everybody thought the New York Giants could pull off that outright upset
00:49 in the opening round of the postseason, that's exactly what happened.
00:52 Well, the 0 and 2 start has now positioned them as a -265 favorite
00:57 to miss the postseason.
00:58 On the other side though, is a far more concerning and
01:01 surprising start for the Chargers, who are now -210 to miss the playoffs here.
01:06 A group that had one of the most embarrassing losses in the history of
01:08 the National Football League to the Jacksonville Jaguars to close out their
01:12 season last year, Brandon Staley keeps his job incorrectly.
01:17 And well, that might only last for another two, three weeks here,
01:20 if LA falls to 0 and 3 or 0 and 4.
01:24 So when we start, Donnie, with the side in this game, and again,
01:28 I don't know if there's anybody out there that loves a side in Chargers
01:31 Vikings, but this is, I think, the most important side on the slate.
01:36 It's interesting as we break it down, because the side for me, actually,
01:39 is going to be the Vikings.
01:40 We'll get to that in just a moment.
01:41 But I want to focus more honestly about the Chargers.
01:44 When I take a look at them, losing close football games,
01:47 comes right down to your head coach, but also coming into the season.
01:49 I'm taking a look and saying to myself, how can we actually get this team over
01:53 the top, how can they actually win the division?
01:55 And Kevin, I don't know how they do it anymore.
01:57 You saw opening night, the Chiefs lost.
01:58 You should have been raring to go, saying, this is now going to be our division
02:02 to overtake.
02:03 And Joe, I want to bring this point up to you.
02:04 The talent is everywhere.
02:05 Wide receiver, running back, quarterback, offensive line, defense,
02:08 it goes on and on.
02:09 Is it just the coach holding them back?
02:11 Is that all it is?
02:12 - It's part of it.
02:13 I think it's a losing mentality right now.
02:15 When you lose a playoff game by 30-point lead, right, in the second half,
02:18 I mean, that sticks with you.
02:20 Not only that, when we look at this game, and to Donnie's point in terms of how
02:23 they've lost two games, total of five points.
02:26 I mean, now, are they going to be pressing?
02:28 It's back-to-back road games, more pressure on the Chargers.
02:31 They go home with three, they can implode.
02:33 And I think that's the concern here.
02:35 With Kirk Cousins at home, you got to benefit the home team.
02:38 Justin Jefferson, he stepped up.
02:40 Does Justin Herbert and this team press a little bit if there are early turnovers?
02:45 What happens in terms of the defensive perspective?
02:48 Minnesota can't run it consistently, 32 yards per game.
02:52 They're completely one-dimensional right now.
