00:00 The Chamber is now in favor of the proposed reform to the pension system of military and uniformed personnel.
00:05 Under House Bill 8969, two MUP Trust Funds are planned to be built for AFE and other uniformed personnel services.
00:14 The Finance Secretary will lead the MUP Trust Fund Committee.
00:17 The trust fund manager will be from the GSIS.
00:20 The fund will be collected from the mandatory monthly contribution of the new MUP.
00:25 The total contribution is 9% of their salary. The government's contribution is 12%.
00:31 Government savings will be included in the fund's collection.
00:35 The MUP Trust Funds are also planned to be exempted from any taxes, fees, and charges.
00:41 Under the bill, the annual salary increase of MUPs in the first 10 years will be 3% in the time that this becomes law.
