00:00 Brad Pitt Names Soundgarden As The Greatest Band In Rock And Roll
00:04 Brad Pitt has had an incredible run in Hollywood, having collaborated with enormously talented
00:09 filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino, David Fincher, and Terry Gilliam, among others.
00:16 Unfortunately, the actor recently announced his plans for retirement in the near future
00:21 because he wants to focus on producing movies.
00:25 While this may come as a shock for many fans, Pitt believes that he is on his last leg.
00:30 The actor will turn 60 next year, but he has managed to stay at the top of the film industry
00:36 for decades now.
00:37 Luckily, he is showing no signs of slowing down right now after delivering an enjoyable
00:42 performance in the recent action thriller Bullet Train.
00:46 Over the years, Pitt has drawn inspiration from various sources while preparing for his
00:51 roles.
00:53 He has cited authors like Franz Kafka and Samuel Beckett as influences while also mentioning
00:58 cinematic masterpieces such as Stanley Kubrick's Doctor Strangelove and Milos Forman's incredible
01:04 1975 comedy One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
01:09 In addition to these, Pitt is also a huge music enthusiast and considers himself to
01:13 be a hardcore Radiohead fan.
01:16 During a conversation with a journalist, he revealed his opinions on Radiohead, what is
01:21 so important about Radiohead is that they are the Kafka and the Beckett of our generation.
01:26 Tom York and the rest of Radiohead are precisely that.
01:31 While explaining the magic of Radiohead's music, he added, "What comes out in them I
01:35 don't think is anything they could actually articulate, but I would certainly say that
01:40 it's that which we all know is true somewhere when we're in our deepest sleep.
01:45 That is their importance, and this movie hits on the same level."
01:48 However, there is another band which Pitt considers to be his all-time favorite.
01:54 In fact, he referred to them as "the greatest band in rock and roll history."
