00:12 The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer of Surigao del Norte

00:22 to discuss with the officials of Socorro Bayanihan Services, Inc.
00:26 the suspension order for the Protected Area Community-Based Resource Management Agreement or PAC-BRMA.
00:32 PENRO explained to the SBSI officials
00:35 the process of implementing the law.
00:38 There is no way to leave the area.
00:40 The Agri and Livelihood Programs will continue.
00:44 But there is no way to allow for new developments
00:46 while the investigation is being conducted.
00:49 Together with the DENR officials and the leaders of the SBSI,
00:53 the temporary suspension of the pre-relegion communities is being held.
00:58 The construction of structures inside Capihan is also included.
01:02 They can use it for their livelihood, ecotourism.
01:06 It doesn't mean that they are in the farming.
01:08 Because they are already there.
01:09 If they have other activities that they are engaged in,
01:14 they will be suspended.
01:18 In 2004, the DENR awarded more than 315 hectares of land to the SBSI
01:24 under the agreement.
01:26 The area is monitored every year.
01:28 But only in 2019,
01:30 the area was affected by the flood
01:32 according to the Protected Area Superintendent.
01:34 That's when the monitoring team saw the violations.
01:41 The DENR will form a team to investigate the area.
01:45 To verify if the allegations are true.
01:48 The illegal structures and the settlement.
01:55 Because supposedly there is no settlement within the Pacuarma area.
01:58 The TINIC did not forget the people living in Sitio Capihan.
