00:00 What's the problem with SNCF?
00:02 This morning, SNCF launched Christmas reservations,
00:06 but it turned into a nightmare.
00:07 Users reported buggy websites and the app.
00:11 Last year, it was already a mess for Christmas reservations,
00:14 and this year is no exception.
00:15 Between 6 and 8 o'clock, the site registered up to 100,000 connections per minute.
00:20 SNCF Connect was downright inaccessible at times
00:23 because of the mass of people.
00:24 At 7.25, a message appeared.
00:26 "There are few waiting, you are many to want to book your train tickets,
00:30 thank you for renewing your search in a few moments."
00:33 And at 10 o'clock, it was still a mess.
00:35 It's the disappointment, so this morning of October 4, 2023,
00:38 between the problems of the SNCF site and the already judged astronomical prices.
00:42 But these IT bugs are not necessarily a bad thing for SNCF.
00:46 In reality, they can be a marketing tool.
00:49 SNCF manages its servers according to the average user.
00:53 In other words, when selling like this, they know that the traffic will explode,
00:57 but they avoid investing in additional servers so as not to increase costs.
01:01 Inevitable result, servers crash to prevent all data from being erased.
01:05 For SNCF, these problems cause frustration among customers.
01:09 So people rush to buy their tickets,
01:11 even book for their loved ones.
01:14 Wouldn't it be a well-thought-out strategy to make you buy more tickets?
