00:00 - Hey everybody, I'm Johnny Lieberman.
00:01 I'm here at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show
00:05 and I'm doing a piece on the three hottest
00:07 four-door sedans of the show,
00:09 starting with the very hottest, the Porsche Mission E.
00:12 So here's the stats real quick.
00:14 Porsche's saying this thing makes more than 600 horsepower,
00:16 it has a range of over 300 miles,
00:19 and if you can find yourself an 800-volt charger,
00:22 you can charge the battery to 80% in about 15 minutes.
00:25 Plus, it's got suicide doors.
00:27 But forget all that, just look at it.
00:29 This thing is a stunner.
00:30 I would've called it the Porsche Knockout.
00:32 Now, they're saying the Mission E is just a concept,
00:35 but a little birdie told me this is going into production
00:37 in 2018 as a 2019 model, which I'm very excited about
00:42 because it might be the best-looking four-door sedan ever.
00:47 Continuing our hot four-doors of the Frankfurt Auto Show,
00:50 here we've got the Mercedes IAA concept,
00:53 and it has an even worse name than the Porsche Motiv E,
00:57 or whatever they're calling it.
00:58 IAA is actually the nickname for the Frankfurt Show.
01:01 I mean, talk about pandering.
01:03 They should've called this thing the Frankfurter.
01:04 But never mind all that.
01:05 While it's not quite as gorgeous as that Porsche,
01:08 it is more evocative,
01:09 specifically evocative of the 1930s
01:13 Mercedes-Benz aerodynamic cars.
01:15 If you ever get a chance to visit the Mercedes Museum,
01:17 you'll see stuff like the T80,
01:19 which is this 6,000-horsepower, six-wheeled thing
01:24 that was supposed to go 400 miles an hour in 1939.
01:28 This kind of looks like it.
01:29 Super, super hot.
01:31 And our third four-door hottie is the Alfa Romeo Giulia.
01:35 Now, there are certain angles, I will admit,
01:37 where this is not the greatest-looking car ever made.
01:40 Certain angles, it looks pretty good,
01:41 but that's not why it's so hot.
01:43 It's so hot because this is the Quadraflorio edition,
01:46 the four-leaf clover,
01:47 and under its hood is a 90-degree V6 with two turbochargers,
01:51 meaning it's derived from a Ferrari V8.
01:54 It makes over 500 horsepower,
01:56 but that's not the exciting number.
01:57 The exciting number is Alfa Romeo is claiming
01:59 this car will lap the Nürburgring in seven minutes,
02:03 39 seconds.
02:04 Just to put that into a little bit of perspective,
02:06 if it's true, the current 991 Porsche Carrera S
02:11 laps the Nürburgring in seven minutes and 40 seconds.
02:15 So here you have a four-door sedan
02:17 that's quicker than a Porsche 911 around the Nürburgring,
02:20 the greatest track in the world.
02:22 Is it true?
02:24 I don't know, but it's pretty hot either way.
02:27 Those are the three hottest four-door sedans at Frankfurt.
02:29 Thanks for watching.
