00:03 - All right, let's talk about Northwestern football
00:04 and then we'll get to Michigan State.
00:06 Two coaches, unsurprisingly, have come out right now,
00:10 Bill, and said that they should not have been terminated
00:12 based on the litigation that's gone on here.
00:15 So I would ask you first about Pat Fitzgerald
00:17 and then we'll move on to Mel Tucker.
00:19 And let's be clear, I mean, neither Bill or I
00:22 are inside these schools or these organizations
00:25 understanding exactly the dynamics of what's going on.
00:29 But at the very least, let's kind of explain the situation.
00:31 We'll start with Northwestern
00:32 and then let's go to Michigan State.
00:33 - Well, it's a wrongful termination suit
00:35 and that comes down to money
00:36 and oftentimes in those situations,
00:38 without, like you said, being inside the building,
00:41 it could result in a settlement
00:42 because of the large number of millions of dollars
00:46 that we're talking about with Pat Fitzgerald.
00:48 And one of the key phrases in the article I read
00:51 was no player directly reported
00:54 any of these allegations to Fitzgerald.
00:56 Now, maybe those allegations were made,
00:59 maybe through the media or whatever,
01:02 and they more than likely happened.
01:04 But for Pat Fitzgerald, I think there is cause
01:07 to at least push this because it's his reputation.
01:10 We talked about this in the summer.
01:12 He had one of the best reputations
01:14 among all FBS coaches before this incident happened.
01:17 It would have been the last guest for a program for me.
01:19 So I think we're looking at a situation
01:22 where this will drag out a little bit
01:24 unless they reach a settlement.
