00:10 On one hand, in Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been making a record of being the CM for the longest time.
00:17 On the other hand, there are some Chief Ministers in Madhya Pradesh who have not been able to complete their five-year tenure.
00:24 So, let's talk about such Chief Ministers who for some reason or the other, have not been able to complete their five-year tenure.
00:32 Let's start with Kamal Nath, who took the Congress back door in the 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh.
00:40 And ended Congress's 15-year rule in the state.
00:45 On 17 December 2018, Kamal Nath swore the oath of CM in Madhya Pradesh.
00:50 But Kamal Nath lost the key to the state's power for five years, three months and three days later,
00:59 when Jyotiraditya Sindhya rebelled against Congress and held the Thajpah's throne.
01:03 Sindhya also took 22 of Kamal Nath's MLA's with him, some of whom were ministers in the Kamal Nath government.
01:10 Kamal Nath's government fell because of his involvement with the supportive MLA's in the BJP.
01:15 On 20 March 2020, Kamal Nath resigned from the CM post.
01:20 But this was not the first time when a Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh was unable to complete his five-year tenure.
01:26 Before this, Babulal Gaut, Sundarlal Patwa, Motilal Bora, Uma Bharti, Arjun Singh, Shyam Charan Shukla, Ravi Shankar Shukla
01:35 and Bhagwant Rao Manlohi were also Chief Ministers who were unable to complete their tenure.
01:40 Babulal Gaur became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 23 August 2004.
01:45 But a year and 98 days later, on 29 November 2005, he had to resign from the CM post.
01:52 Uma Bharti became the first female Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 8 December 2003.
01:57 But after 269 days, on 23 August 2004, she had to resign from the CM post.
02:03 Sundarlal Patwa became the CM of Madhya Pradesh on 5 March 1990.
02:07 And after being the CM for 2 years and 285 days, his tenure ended on 15 December 1992.
02:14 Motilal Bora became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 13 March 1985.
02:20 And he remained the Chief Minister till 13 February 1988.
02:23 And his tenure was for 2 years and 337 days.
02:27 Arjun Singh remained the CM for 3 times.
02:29 He completed his tenure twice.
02:31 But for the third time, he became the CM on 14 February 1988.
02:36 And after 344 days, he had to resign on 23 February 1989.
02:41 Prakash Chandra Sethi became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh twice.
02:45 For the first time, his tenure was for 51 days.
02:48 He became the Chief Minister on 29 January 1972.
02:51 And on 22 March 1972, he had to resign.
02:55 After this, he became the CM of Madhya Pradesh on 23 March 1972.
02:59 And he remained the CM till 23 December 1975.
03:02 His second tenure was for 3 years and 328 days.
03:06 Shyam Charan Shukla remained the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh three times.
03:11 His first tenure was from 26 March 1969 to 28 January 1972 for 34 months.
03:20 His second tenure was from 23 December 1975 to 30 April 1977.
03:26 And he remained the CM of Madhya Pradesh for 16 months.
03:29 His third tenure was from 9 December 1989 to 1 March 1990.
03:36 And he remained the CM of Madhya Pradesh for 82 days.
03:39 Ravi Shankar Shukla was the first CM of Madhya Pradesh.
03:42 He remained the CM of Madhya Pradesh for 60 days from 1 November 1956 to 21 December 1956.
03:50 Bhagwant Rao Mandlohi
03:52 Bhagwant Rao Mandlohi became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh twice.
03:55 He became the CM for the first time on 9 January 1957 and remained the CM till 30 January 1957.
04:03 His tenure was for 21 days.
04:06 His second tenure was from 12 March 1962 and he remained the CM till 29 September 1963.
04:14 Both the terms were incomplete.
04:16 Raja Naresh Chandra Singh
04:18 Raja Naresh Chandra Singh was the CM of Madhya Pradesh who remained the CM for 13 days.
04:25 He became the CM on 13 March 1969 and remained the CM till 25 March 1969.
