What's the key to Bama forcing more turnovers this season

00:00 >> At the halfway point of the season, you have as many interceptions as you did
00:02 all of last year.
00:03 Just what do you think has led to the increase in interceptions so far on defense?
00:08 >> I think we've done a good job of crushing the quarterback.
00:12 I think the pass rush has been good, even when we only have four guys rushing.
00:17 And I think that has affected the quarterback to some degree.
00:22 I do think that our guys all have good ball skills, and
00:27 they all play the ball well in the air.
00:29 And I think we play the ball with more confidence.
00:32 So that's something that we really like to see in all the defensive backs that we
00:38 have, and hopefully we'll be able to continue to get turnovers.
00:42 Cuz that's gonna be huge for us in terms of the success of the future,
00:47 is having successful turnovers.
00:50 >> Coach, they've been discredited in the pass rush as part of the reason why
00:52 there's been more interceptions this year.
00:54 Just how much of it is a tag team effort, putting you all on the front seven,
00:57 creating the pressure on the guys in the back, and can we get any interceptions?
01:00 >> Well, I feel like it goes hand in hand.
01:02 We can get the quarterback off his original plan,
01:08 the way he wants to throw, and we can get him out of the pocket, we can create pressure.
01:12 It makes it easier for the guys in the back end.
01:13 The same way how when they cover great, we can get sacks off of it.
01:19 The quarterback having to hold the ball too long,
01:21 maybe a little out of the defense, and decides on what he wanna do.
01:24 So it goes hand in hand, I feel like we're playing great ball, and
01:28 I feel like our best is still here.
