00:00 Welcome to Mojo Place, and today we're counting down our picks for the 10 worst stealth games.
00:15 For this list, we'll be looking at games that should have stayed in the shadows.
00:19 Some of these games attempt to implement stealth mechanics in unique ways, while others, it
00:24 felt like an afterthought.
00:25 Sneak your way into the comments and let us know if we missed any bad stealth games.
00:38 Before we continue, we publish content all week long.

00:49 Deathloop When you think of Arkane Studios, you probably
00:59 think of open levels that allow you to tackle any mission in any way possible.
01:04 The Dishonored series practically made them the new kings of stealth.
01:08 Sadly, Deathloop really didn't have any of that.
01:11 While Deathloop may seem like an open level sandbox for players to sneak around in, it
01:16 actually leaves much to be desired.
01:18 For starters, the actual story of taking out all the visionaries can only be done in a
01:22 certain manner.
01:24 Not only is the story below par, but the stealth is too.
01:27 You can try to sneak around the levels, but the game has so many areas full of poorly
01:32 placed enemies that stealth isn't an option.
01:35 Not only is the amount of enemies a problem, but losing your gear and abilities after you
01:39 die becomes very tedious very quickly.
01:50 Metal Gear Survive A spin-off of the classic tactical stealth
01:59 action game, Metal Gear Solid, Survive takes everything we love from the series and throws
02:03 most of it out the window.
02:05 Sure, it does have stealth elements taken from MGS5, but it's pointless here.
02:11 The game is more of a base builder.
02:12 We'll be tasked to go out and gather supplies and bring them back to our base to take on
02:17 waves of weird zombie-like creatures.
02:20 Survive was also the first game after the ugly breakup of Konami and Kojima, so no matter
02:25 what, fans weren't going to like this one unless it was amazing, and amazing it was not.
02:40 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Before you let me know in the comments that
02:53 Modern Warfare 2 has amazing stealth missions, for this entry I'll be only talking about
02:59 the DMZ mode.
03:00 With the whole map of Almazrah full of AI and players, stealth should play a key role,
03:05 but stealth doesn't work all that great with AI.
03:08 Crouching and killing AI with suppressed weapons seems to work half the time, but then there
03:13 will be moments where the AI will spot you and know your every move.
03:18 There's nothing more frustrating than going into a building that's locked down, making
03:22 it halfway through only for the AI to randomly notice you and have a full squad bum-rush
03:27 you.
03:34 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Another iconic stealth series with an entry
03:48 that doesn't tackle stealth well at all.
03:52 Sam Fisher is known for being one heck of a slippery agent, but Conviction tries to
03:56 focus more on action.
03:59 Classic Splinter Cell tropes are missing, like lockpicking, hiding in lockers and under
04:03 beds, non-lethal weapons, and hiding bodies.
04:06 With some of the tentpole features missing, we also got new elements like enemies' weapons
04:10 being able to be used, brutal interrogations, and the mark and execute ability.
04:16 All these changes turned Sam Fisher into a killing machine that threw stealth to the
04:20 wayside and allowed him to go guns blazing, and in turn, lost what made Splinter Cell
04:25 great.
04:33 Sniper Ghost Warrior You would think a game called Sniper Ghost
04:43 Warrior would focus on sniping while undetected, but Ghost Warrior is a tale of two games that
04:49 can't decide which it wants to be.
04:51 You have your actual sniping missions that don't feel all that great thanks to bad AI
04:56 and not-so-great sniping mechanics, and then you've got more action-focused missions that
05:01 again just don't feel well thought out and seems like filler to get you to the next sniping
05:06 section.
05:07 Luckily, this was the first attempt at the series, and later entries did get better,
05:11 but it's far from an icon in the stealth genre.
05:20 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator The Ghost Recon games are known for having
05:29 excellent tactical team combat, but Predator just isn't that.
05:34 Most Ghost Recon games have you strategically placing your squad in position to hide from
05:38 enemies or to take them out in a stealthy manner.
05:41 Predator still has the team, but lacks the stealth.
05:44 You'll find yourself shooting enemies wildly more than setting up synchronized shots.
05:49 It also doesn't help that maps are smaller and have you running into enemies more often
05:53 than the classic titles.
05:59 Rogue Warrior Not only a bad stealth game, but a bad game
06:10 in general.
06:11 Rogue Warrior has us going in solo to disrupt ballistic missile launchers.
06:16 The key to stealth is being quiet, and our protagonist doesn't know how to keep his mouth
06:20 shut.
06:28 After every takedown, he has some vulgar one-liner that he borderline yells.
06:34 When not sneaking around yelling, he lays down fire and makes you wonder why you were
06:38 even sneaking around in the first place.
06:40 Though by that logic, you should probably question why you're playing this game to
06:45 begin with.
06:52 Thief Being a sequel to a cult classic franchise
07:03 can be tricky, and Thief found that out the hard way.
07:06 The first two games in the series did a great job making us feel like a master thief.
07:11 Nothing felt quite as good as sneaking from one shadowy hallway to another, leading you
07:15 to your loot.
07:16 The early games were praised for their level design, but the 2014 reboot just couldn't
07:21 live up to the standards set by its predecessors.
07:24 Thief lost the immersion sim elements and gave us smaller levels that were linear and
07:29 was overall a disappointing venture for everyone involved.
07:39 Hello Neighbor 2 When you think of stealth, Hello Neighbor
07:48 probably doesn't come to mind, but it is technically a stealth game.
07:52 And its sequel is an absolute mess.
07:55 Each level has you sneaking around lousy AI while doing puzzles to progress.
07:59 You can easily trick the AI to get stuck in the environment and even doorways.
08:04 The AI isn't the only thing busted here.
08:06 You can actually glitch your way through the whole game in under 15 minutes.
08:10 Not even the goodwill of the first could make up for a second outing this lousy.
08:19 The Lord of the Rings Gollum Is this the worst game of 2023?
08:32 Is this the worst stealth game ever?
08:34 The answer to both of these questions are a resounding yes.
08:38 The Lord of the Rings Gollum is a broken game with little to no redeeming qualities.
08:43 The game has a weak story and repetitive gameplay that's mostly made up of stealth sections.
08:49 Given Gollum's build and fondness for crawling around in the dark, you'd think stealth would
08:53 be fleshed out.
08:55 But enemies never seem to notice you even when crawling in front of them.
08:58 And given their patrol patterns are basically one circle, avoiding the AI becomes super
09:03 easy.
09:04 There are so many things to hate about this game, but the stealth element is one of its
09:08 biggest failings.
