Runnin' For the Brats at Four Peaks Oktoberfest

  • last year
Four Peaks Oktoberfest presented by BETMGM is back for its milestone 50th year at Tempe Town Lake! The three-day outdoor Bavarian themed festival kicks off Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15, 2023. It is open to all ages and features live music, food and drinks, games, carnival rides, dancing and more. This year, there will be thrilling rides, new food items including gourmet pretzels and strudels, and the return of the hilarious and energetic local celebrity bratwurst eating contest. The annual fundraiser benefits Tempe Sister Cities, an internationally recognized non-profit founded in 1970. The proceeds from Oktoberfest are used to send Tempe high school students to nine of Tempe’s sister cities. For more information, visit www.fourpeaksoktoberfest.com.

00:00 All right, thank you Brad. So I am here with some of the runners who are gonna be out doing a couple different runs today.
00:07 We're doing a mile. We're doing a 10k.
00:09 I have Dave, Brooke and Dawn here and as you can see Brooke is ready for the Oktoberfest run.
00:15 She is set in her drendle, correct? Drendle, yes. Drendle. I was close. How many races have you done?
00:22 A lot. Too many to count. I'm a triathlete and a race cyclist usually, but today I'm gonna run for fun.
00:28 I love it. Is this your first time here at Oktoberfest, all of you guys? At Oktoberfest, yes.
00:32 First time, I love it. Are you excited about the stein and the free beer?
00:36 Absolutely, that's why we're here.
00:38 I know, I love it.
00:40 I said you give people free food, free beer and they will come out and in droves for sure.
00:45 And guys, so what about your times? What times are you hoping for?
00:51 Well, this is Dawn's first 10k. The stein and the beer is how we got him to do his first 10k.
00:56 I love it. So we're probably shooting for an hour-ish, maybe a little under.
01:00 Okay, sounds good. Alright guys, well I wish you the best of luck. You're doing a one mile, right?
01:05 So you're good. You're gonna do great. That'll be nice and fun and easy.
01:09 I wish you guys the best of luck in the 10k, the one mile, and we'll see you guys out there soon.
01:13 You look fantastic. Cheers everybody. Prost.

01:30 Hi, so what run are you doing today? Are you doing a mile? 10k.
01:35 10k. What time are you hoping to get on that? Just finishing. I don't know.
01:40 That's a good goal. There you go. That's what they were saying too.
01:44 That they're out here for the free stein and the free beer. Sounds good.
