Deputy business editor Greg Wright headed up to Ilkley Moor during Storm Babet
Transcript
00:00 Hello, my name's Greg Wright, I'm the Deputy Business Editor for Yorkshire Post.
00:03 You join me up here on Ilkley Moor in the middle of Storm Barbet.
00:06 As you can see, conditions are fairly wild out here.
00:09 It's a well-known tourist attraction, normally would be full of tourists.
00:12 At the moment it's absolutely silent and desolate apart from the sound of running water.
00:17 It's really quite windy.
00:20 There's also, as you can see, a lot of water coming down in torrents from the moors.
00:25 And as you can see here, normally this would be full of children playing and families.
00:30 It's a very, very damp site here as Storm Barbet continues to come up the moors.
00:35 But as you can see here, this is Ilkley Moor, normally such a beautiful place full of tourists, full of day-trippers.
00:44 Today there's nobody around and the water's really coming down off the moors.
00:49 Just take a look at it here, see the torrents of water there coming down off the moors.
00:54 There's been a lot of rain here and the rain is continuing quite heavily at the moment.
00:57 So it's pretty bleak on the moors here today, a sign that Storm Barbet is really affecting the environment here in Ilkley in the heart of West Yorkshire.
01:09 So pretty bleak at the moment and a sign that the storm is having an impact here in the middle of Ilkley Moor.
