00:00 John, the latest is that David Montgomery could miss a little bit of time with the cartilage issue.
00:04 What do you make of that injury report for the veteran running back?
00:07 Yeah, super tough. Earlier this year dealt with a thigh bruise situation, fought his way back,
00:14 and really has been a staple of this Detroit Lions offense. You see a tough gritty runner
00:18 that can handle the football 30 times. For him to go out early against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
00:24 it looked painful. A rib cartilage situation, Dan Campbell informed the media when he addressed the
00:30 media for the first time this week after an impressive victory. So it appears that, you know,
00:35 this is kind of an injury that when you look at others that have kind of dealt with that situation,
00:40 very slow to heal and very painful. And for his position, a position of contact each and every
00:45 play, it would behoove the Detroit Lions to take their time with David Montgomery. You also have a
00:50 bye week coming up in a couple of weeks. So should Montgomery miss a couple of weeks and, you know,
00:55 following the Raiders game, the Lions do indeed have a bye week. Maybe returning following the
01:00 bye could be the first time that Montgomery does indeed, you know, get reevaluated to return. But
01:06 for the Detroit Lions, it does pose an interesting situation in regards to who's going to step up.
01:10 Could it be potentially Jameer Gibbs? Could it be Craig Reynolds? Devine Ozigbo? Do they look
01:15 outside the organization? It's a big hole to fill, especially given the veterans productivity. I mean,
01:22 man, he was seriously a solid replacement for Jamal Williams, who had a plethora of touchdowns.
01:29 And you just saw David Montgomery be the red zone target primarily for the Detroit Lions.
01:34 And you look at his absence, I do think it'll be very interesting and challenging for the running
01:39 game, who did not really perform as well as they would have liked on the ground against a stout
01:44 Buccaneers defense. But for the Detroit Lions, they do have options. But at this point in time,
01:50 David Montgomery probably going to be away from the team for a little bit of time. Use receivers
01:55 that running back maybe, right, John? Maybe in the interim. Thanks for all the time.
