00:02 - So Nancy from J-Lo,
00:17 now I'm gonna be interested to think,
00:19 to hear what you think about Eric Cantona.
00:21 - Eric Cantona, you're not gonna be saying
00:24 how pleased you are that he's an old man, are you?
00:29 - (laughs) Eric Cantona,
00:31 he's a very interesting individual.
00:35 I was just--
00:36 - That is true, that is true.
00:38 Nobody's ever said he was boring.
00:40 - And he certainly doesn't lack confidence
00:44 as he's about to embark on his UK tour.
00:46 He's talking about, well, potentially joking
00:49 about the Rolling Stones supporting him.
00:52 But is he actually--
00:52 - Just rewind a minute.
00:53 So footballer, Eric Cantona,
00:56 famous for his kung fu skills and poetry writing,
01:01 is now a singer.
01:03 So his tour is not a football tour,
01:06 he's going out there to do music.
01:08 How long has he been doing music even?
01:10 What is he thinking?
01:11 And can he even sing?
01:14 - I haven't actually heard it.
01:16 I think he released his first music earlier this year.
01:20 He's gonna be performing in Manchester,
01:22 he's gonna also be at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London,
01:25 and it's sold out.
01:26 So obviously there's an appetite to hear Eric Cantona.
01:30 I remember obviously in the day,
01:34 his amazing football skills,
01:35 but obviously of course that,
01:37 his poetry,
01:39 his music about the Seagulls.
01:43 I'm sure you remember that quote that he said.
01:45 - I remember, I have heard him sing.
01:49 He's not that bad.
01:50 If it were anybody else of his age,
01:56 who'd never done it before,
01:57 he wouldn't stand a chance, would they?
01:58 Now are people not buying these tickets
02:00 because they just want to be in a room
02:01 with the football legend that is Eric Cantona?
02:03 Do we think they really,
02:04 oh, he's gonna be entertaining as well, isn't he?
02:06 'Cause every time he says something,
02:07 you're a little bit, oh, okay.
02:09 What does that mean?
02:10 Or what does it actually mean?
02:12 He is a very entertaining person.
02:13 He was incredible at football.
02:15 Is that not why they're going?
02:16 It doesn't matter, he could have been dancing a salsa.
02:18 - Maybe Eric Cantona needs to give some lessons
02:21 to Ritchie Soonak and Kier Starmer.
02:24 - I don't know.
02:25 - Well, I hate to say it,
02:27 but I think if somebody like Eric Cantona or JLo
02:30 actually went into politics,
02:32 there would at least be a positive reason to vote,
02:34 even if they had no policies.
02:36 I wonder what, oh, yeah.
02:37 I think Eric Cantona definitely would have policies.
02:40 - But I do agree with you about
02:42 why are people going to see him?
02:44 They're going to see him because
02:46 who knows what Eric Cantona's gonna do?
02:49 He may just sing,
02:50 but he might go off on a little bit of a rant
02:52 and share some more of his musings,
02:55 which I'm sure he will.
02:56 - He will.
02:58 Do you think they'll be chanting "Oo-ah Cantona"
03:00 from their push seats like they would do
03:03 if they were at a football stand?
03:04 - I'm sure they'll be.
03:05 - Are there rules around what you can do?
03:07 - I think there are rules, but you never know.
03:09 I'm sure there'll be a few people
03:10 who won't be able to resist that.
03:12 - Now, he did say that his ultimate dream
03:15 would to be play at Old Trafford,
03:17 like obviously he's played at Old Trafford lots of times,
03:20 but to sing and perform and sell out Old Trafford
03:24 as a concert venue.
03:27 Now, I think, I mean,
03:28 I wonder if he could actually do that
03:29 just because so many people would go along.
03:31 There's not many people you would suggest
03:32 could sell out somewhere so good,
03:34 but that would be a sight to see, wouldn't it?
03:36 - Yeah, I'd quite like to go.
03:37 - Would you buy a ticket?
03:38 - Yeah, I think I might.
03:40 Quite like to see Eric Cantona.
03:42 - Who could you persuade to go with you?
03:46 - That is the question. - Nobody.
03:47 - You, Nancy, I'd persuade you.
03:50 - You'd come with me.
03:52 - You'd have to come up north.
03:53 Okay, so when he goes, when tickets go on sale
03:56 for Eric Cantona's exclusive Old Trafford gig,
03:59 we'll both be there.
04:00 I'm not sure I would make the journey to London
04:02 to see him there.
04:03 - Well, we'll have to both go and see Madonna,
04:05 hopefully if she does perform at Glastonbury next year,
04:07 both of us together, that would be,
04:09 if we do it.
04:11 - Yes, that would, yeah, okay.
04:12 I think Madonna probably put some more of a show
04:14 and you know more of what you're gonna get.
