00:00 PJ Walker.
00:00 - Just talk about that, you know, that last drive.
00:17 What was your mindset?
00:19 You know, what was your feeling and how great was that?
00:21 - It's a point being again,
00:23 we were down I believe five of them or something like that.
00:29 But, you know, we saw a few drives previous to our offense
00:33 and we didn't get an opportunity to get the ball
00:35 in the end zone.
00:36 Dustin did a hell of a job bailing us out time after time.
00:39 I think as an offense, we got like,
00:43 we know we needed points, we know we needed to score.
00:45 And the guys around me, some big plays, man,
00:49 had some big moments and that's all that mattered.
00:51 - Did you get any reps after Wednesday this week?
00:53 - No, I didn't.
00:54 So for me, it was just to continue to prepare mentally
00:58 and back in the back of the huddles and things like that.
01:01 Just take mental reps.
01:02 You just never know, it's a crazy game.
01:06 And I really know this cause you gotta be ready.
01:08 - What were you saying to the conference?
01:10 - On that play on the drive where it looks like
01:12 you fall, they called a legal contact.
01:14 How long before you knew that there was a play?
01:16 - I did.
01:18 So yeah, I did.
01:19 And I was trying to get the ball out of my hands.
01:21 I felt the pressure and I felt like I got my arm
01:23 before it go in the throat, but it was a flag on me.
01:27 I was out of it, so it's good.
01:29 - You had to overcome a lot of adversity
01:31 on that final drive.
01:32 How did you just keep hanging in there
01:34 and just keep sticking to it until the finish?
01:38 - So this is a long game, man.
01:40 We had enough time on the clock where I felt like
01:43 once we got that first first down,
01:45 we was gonna be moving and just to get them on their heels
01:47 and get them back.
01:48 And as the drive was going,
01:51 I was starting to see little things
01:52 that I felt like we can attack.
01:54 And so for me, it was just trying to get the ball
01:56 in their hands and let them go out there and make plays.
01:59 - How was Deshaun helping you from the sidelines
02:02 and keeping you into the game and encouraging you?
02:04 - Just talking.
02:05 Talking about what we see on that sideline.
02:08 And I'm asking him what he liked,
02:10 what plays he liked and what he thinks
02:12 are gonna work out there.
02:13 That's big for us, just having conversations
02:16 about that on the sidelines.
02:17 Just trying to have that communication,
02:18 that clear cut communication,
02:19 it was just constant having a feel for each other
02:23 and just trying not to change too much
02:25 and just trying to continue the game plan.
02:27 So for us, it was just to keep going.
02:29 And then every time I got back to the sideline,
02:31 I just talked before and just see what he was looking at.
02:34 - PJ, before the hunt touchdown,
02:35 there were a couple hairy plays there,
02:37 the shovel pass, Harrison Bryant open.
02:41 Do you attribute that to not getting reps?
02:43 - Oh, no, just some moments, some moment thing.
02:47 Maybe I was playing a little too fast.
02:49 I feel like the shovel pass today,
02:51 I was probably in a bit of a rush and shit,
02:53 just being a little more patient.
02:55 I think Dave does a great job with just his patience.
02:59 So me, just finally starting to be able to go out there
03:02 and play with him as a teammate,
03:04 I just gotta go out there and get that time
03:05 and put him down pat.
03:07 He's a different cat, man.
03:08 You just take the ball in his hands
03:09 and let him just go do what he do.
03:11 - What can you say about two things,
03:15 Myron Barrett and Dustin Hopkins
03:16 and how they just perform?
03:18 - Myron's father's a problem, that's for sure.
03:22 And I was in a whole different situation last year.
03:27 I was watching the tape, playing from week one
03:29 to I already knew what my father was gonna bring
03:31 to the table every week.
03:33 And for us, you could see the rally around him,
03:37 you know what I'm saying, as a group.
03:39 He made big plays when the biggest plays
03:41 needed to be made, and that's big for us.
03:44 Like that touchdown, that sack home at the end of the half,
03:47 that was huge.
03:49 They backed up, they decided to go out there
03:51 and call a pass play.
03:53 But not a far rush in, that's gonna be a bit of an issue.
03:57 But he did a great job, and Dustin did a great job
04:00 while they just taking opportunities and knocking them down.
04:02 I appreciate him for what he did,
04:04 I'm sure everybody on his team appreciate him
04:06 for the clutch picks he made today.
04:09 - PJ, you talked about the adversity that you had today.
04:12 Doesn't it kind of feel like almost a microcosm
04:14 of your career, right?
04:15 You've been through a lot as a guy
04:17 playing professional football.
04:18 How does a day like this help your confidence
04:21 so that when your number's called, you can go play?
04:23 - That was big, to be honest.
04:24 I've always, a bit, never felt really comfortable
04:28 going into a game, not starting a game.
04:32 So for me to just go out there and just have that
04:34 effort mentality, just go play, man, that was big for me.
04:37 And I just, I felt good, you know, just being able
04:39 to just be out there with the guys
04:40 and just feel comfortable.
04:42 You know, I think the guys all,
04:44 they would go with me being in there,
04:46 so that's what matters, you know.
04:48 The energy of the guys around me is gonna help me
04:50 bring up my level of play and help me bring up my energy
04:53 and my spirit around them as well.
04:55 - Were you expecting to start earlier this week?
04:58 - I wasn't sure.
04:59 Didn't know what was gonna happen, to be honest.
05:01 I knew forward was working his way back
05:04 and I knew he was torqued,
05:06 and the arrow was facing up this week.
05:09 So for me, it was just to keep going,
05:11 keep preparing like I had been all season.
05:13 You know, you never know when your number's called.
05:16 And it's just one of those days.
05:18 - I knew he took, obviously, the shot,
05:19 took that big shot, but were you surprised
05:21 when Kevin said, "Okay, we're just gonna proceed
05:23 "with cautioning?"
05:24 - I wasn't surprised, you know,
05:26 just you don't want that to happen
05:28 and things happening that build up,
05:30 you know what I'm saying?
05:31 So we did a good job just protecting him.
05:35 We did a great job as a team battling for him
05:37 and getting his win for him.
05:38 And that's all that mattered.
05:40 At the end of the day, we got the win as a group,
05:42 we got the win as a team.
05:43 That's all that really mattered.
05:46 - PJ, what happened in the, I'm just curious,
05:48 the last play that you're gonna run the ball,
05:50 what was it like in the huddle there?
05:52 - That was on tense, man.
05:53 We knew we had to go in there and punch it in.
05:56 You just see it in the guy's faces, man.
05:58 That whole line, he wanted to run the ball.
05:59 So that right there is big.
06:02 We didn't have no more timeouts, though,
06:03 so I don't know if we was able to do that.
06:06 So we did a great job just punching it in
06:10 on fourth and one when it's needed, you know?
06:12 Answering the bell, what's called,
06:14 and the whole line just did a great job
06:17 just getting Raymond in the end zone,
06:19 and that was it.
06:22 - What can you just say about the heart and soul of this?
06:25 - Yeah, we battle tested,
06:27 we continued to just battle week in and week out.
06:29 You can just feel the no waver on the sideline
06:33 as other teams score, or we make a mistake,
06:36 or the defense make a mistake,
06:37 and just nobody wavers.
06:39 That's big, you know, just to have a group of guys that,
06:42 all right, next play, you know, we good.
06:44 Like, I threw the deception, why walk this,
06:46 all right, we good, next play.
06:47 Defense gonna get a stop,
06:48 we gonna get the ball right back.
06:49 So that, like, that right there is just like,
06:51 all right, man, we good.
06:52 We just gotta go out there and keep playing,
06:54 and we gonna go out there, we gonna answer.
06:56 - It didn't look like Kareem cracked the plane by much.
06:59 From where you were, could you tell he got in right away?
07:01 - I could tell he got in,
07:02 and did a great job, like, pushed it in.
07:05 You can just see the,
07:07 once that ball hit that white line,
07:09 I already knew what it was.
07:10 That's all I was looking at,
07:11 just seeing the ball hit the white line.
07:14 - Everybody good?
07:15 - Yep.
07:16 - Thank you.
07:17 - We'll also have Miles Garrett
07:19 and DeSean Watson at podium two.
07:21 - I was getting ready to take off.
07:26 - All right, cool.
07:32 - All right.
07:33 (whispering)
