00:20 Good morning, Eduardo.
00:21 How is the sixth day of competition unfolding?
00:24 Hello, good morning.
00:29 How are you?
00:29 We are here live at the Santiago National Stadium.
00:32 What it was?
00:33 A very cold and rainy morning today,
00:36 but full with several sports.
00:38 Let's do a quick recap of how things are going so far.
00:41 In the scoreboard, especially, United States
00:43 is leading with 24 gold medals, 51 overall, followed
00:48 by Mexico with 10 gold medals.
00:51 Mexico doing very, very well in what it is taekwondo discipline
00:55 and also diving.
00:56 Out of the 10 gold medals, eight were in these two categories.
01:01 Last night, we had more action in volleyball
01:03 where Dominican Republic and Chile
01:05 both got very good wins against Mexico and Colombia.
01:09 Also, speaking of volleyball, we had beach volleyball
01:12 going on last night, one of the crowd's favorite sports
01:15 here in Chile, where the Chilean pair beat Paraguay
01:20 and also the Cuban pair beat Guatemala, sorry,
01:26 Cuba beat Guatemala in beach volleyball last night.
01:29 This is still group stage.
01:30 They're not playing for medals quite yet.
01:33 Just a reminder, they're playing to win the group.
01:35 If you win the group in beach volleyball,
01:38 you automatically advance to the semifinal,
01:41 giving you an extra week, an extra couple
01:43 of days of rest, which is highly appreciated.
01:46 This morning, we had more action in baseball in the group stage
01:49 also.
01:50 Right now, there's a game going on.
01:52 Panama, in the middle of the sixth inning,
01:54 is defeating Mexico 3 to 2.
01:57 Later on this afternoon, we are also
01:59 going to be covering 3 v 3 basketball here in Santiago.
02:03 The games are going to be Chile-Venezuela in the men's
02:06 side and Colombia versus Puerto Rico on the women's side.
02:10 Also today, another very popular sport,
02:12 that's football, male football, is
02:14 going to be happening in the cities of Viña del Mar
02:17 and Valparaíso, with the games between the United States
02:21 against Brazil being one of the main ones,
02:23 and Chile versus Mexico closing the evening tonight.
02:27 Another important sport that's starting, it's tennis.
02:32 Let's remind everybody that tennis gives--
02:35 apart from the medals, the tennis players
02:36 that win here in Santiago are going
02:39 to qualify to the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.
02:43 In tennis, one of the best athletes
02:45 here is Facundo Diaz-Acosta.
02:47 He's a top-seeded athlete, 98th of the world right now.
02:51 And so he's expected to win gold.
02:53 But as we said, there's 70 athletes
02:55 that are going to be competing in tennis, which
02:57 has started just now a couple of feet from where we are.
03:02 As we said, it's a cold and rainy morning today.
03:04 But we're going to be here covering
03:06 all the different sports and reporting in live as soon
03:10 as you need it back in the studio.
03:12 I'm Eduardo Reonesi from Santiago, Chile, back to you.
03:16 Thank you, Eduardo, for the latest details
