00:00 In Argentina, presidential candidate Sergio Maza has the elections that will compete in
00:13 the second round against Javier Milley.
00:18 In Iran, government denounced that Israel's aim is forced exploitment of the population
00:22 for the gas strip and a west ban to Egypt and Jordan.
00:28 At the Democratic Republic of the Congo, violent fighting broke out over the weekend between
00:33 N23 rebels and pro-government soldiers and armed groups.
00:38 Hello, welcome to From the South.
00:41 I'm Ana Rosabal from the Delta Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:44 We begin with the news.
00:57 In Argentina, with 98.51% of the votes counted, presidential candidate Sergio Maza leads the
01:03 elections that will compete in a run-off against Javier Milley.
01:07 In his last report, the Electoral Chamber announced that the candidate of the Union
01:11 for the Homeland, Sergio Maza, obtained 36.68% of the votes.
01:16 In second place, the ultra-right-wing Javier Milley, from Liberty Advances, who got 29.98%
01:23 of the votes, and is ahead of the party Richel Boric from Together for Change, who reached
01:27 23.83%.
01:28 It is worth mentioning that the electoral authority rejected the 77.67% voter turnout.
01:36 After seeing the results, Sergio Maza called on the different Argentinian political forces
01:41 for a government of national unity.
01:48 Presidential candidate Sergio Maza thanks the Argentinian people who went to the polls.
01:55 I want to thank the more than 25 million Argentines who went to vote.
02:00 Vote for who will vote, because 40 years after the birth of our new democratic era, somehow
02:06 Argentines manifest embrace this system as a system to elect those who govern.
02:11 In Argentina, presidential candidate Javier Milley said to the Argentines that it is the
02:18 most important election that they are facing and will embrace again the ideas of freedom
02:23 that made Argentina great in the 19th century.
02:26 But above all, I want you to realize that today we are facing the most important election
02:34 of the last 100 years.
02:36 A choice that will pass us if we want to continue with this model that keeps unison, defense,
02:42 or if we want to embrace again the ideas of freedom that are what made Argentina great
02:48 in the 19th century, and that are countries that embrace the ideas of freedom and progress.
02:56 In Mexico, the summit conference on migration ended with a joint declaration condemning
03:00 unilateral cohesive measures.
03:03 The summit was held in Palenque, Chiapas, and addressed issues such as the causes of
03:07 human mobility, poverty, inequality, and lack of jobs in countries with high rates of migration.
03:13 The heads of state of Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, and Honduras participated in the meeting,
03:18 as well as diplomatic representatives from Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador,
03:23 Guatemala, Haiti, and Panama.
03:24 For her part, the foreign minister of Mexico, Alicia Barcena, announced the agreement established
03:30 by the leaders in the meeting where they considered sanctions as one of the causes that promote
03:35 forced migration.
03:40 The chancellor of Venezuela, Ivan Gil, said that migration has to be dealt with in a proper
03:44 manner and with respect to the human rights of its citizens.
03:51 We have always said that migration is a phenomenon that must be dealt with in a proper manner,
03:56 in accordance with international law, respecting human rights, and under no circumstances it
04:02 should be used for political purposes.
04:04 I believe that today represents a turning point when we have seen the leaders commit
04:09 themselves to this document, to this declaration.
04:13 For his part, the vice minister of foreign affairs of Cuba, Carlos Dicacio, confirmed
04:18 that the economic blockade imposed by the United States against the Caribbean island
04:22 is one to make harcess of the Cuba migration.
04:27 In the case of Cuba, whose migration has an impact on all the countries of the region,
04:33 our president called attention to the fact that in addition to the natural conditions
04:37 that provoke migration and the migration of our region, that is essentially directed towards
04:43 the United States.
04:44 There are extraordinary and one could say artificial factors that influence this migration.
04:50 In this first place, there is the economic blockade, which is a policy that has lasted
04:55 for more than 60 years, and which is a policy explicitly aimed at generating depressing
05:02 income, generating poverty, hunger, and trying to provoke a political change.
05:07 And naturally, this causes a political stimulus for migration of people who want to leave
05:12 this scenario.

05:29 Welcome back.
05:30 The Iranian government announced that Israel's aim is to force the deployment of the C2 auto-population
05:35 for the Dicacio Strip out of the West Bank to Egypt and Jordan.
05:39 The statements were made during a phone conversation between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amin
05:44 Abdel-Rahman and his Egyptian counterpart amid diplomatic consultations with officials
05:49 of Islamic countries on the need to put an end to Israeli war crimes against the people
05:54 of Gaza.
05:55 The Iranian government also announced that the Iranian Red Crescent is ready to send
05:59 humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing to Gaza.
06:05 Israel's yoke against the Palestinian people continues, and in the last 24 hours, the occupying
06:10 forces shelling killed more than 400 civilians in the Dicacio Strip and the West Bank.
06:16 According to local media reports, a new bombardment of the Dicacio Strip took place on a Monday,
06:21 killing at least 45 people, 23 in the Camp Johnis area in the south and more than 10
06:27 in the northern part of the Dicacio Strip.
06:29 The Palestinian Health Minister reported that 436 Palestinians had been killed during this
06:34 period, including 198 children.
06:37 The health agency also stated that so far there had been 5,182 deaths in the Dicacio
06:43 Strip and the West Bank since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7.
06:51 The Palestinian Prime Minister condemned the crimes and all the Israeli attacks against
06:55 the inhabitants of Gaza.
06:57 "What we hear from the leaders of the occupying state regarding the preparation for a ground
07:03 invasion means continuing to commit new crimes, atrocities, forced deplacement and killing
07:09 for the sake of killing and revenge.
07:11 We condemn the stances that constitute a license to kill and a political covert to commit massacres
07:17 and self-destruction of Gaza and its people."
07:21 The Prime Minister described the events that have occurred so far as a genocide at the
07:25 hands of a criminal war machine.
07:28 "This war is a genocide carried out by a criminal machine with a barbaric colonialist mentality
07:34 that creates killing and takes pleasure in the torture of innocent people and children
07:39 and bomb mosques and churches."
07:42 Monday marks 17 days since these Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
07:47 Thousands of Palestinians have lost their lives and the rest have been forced to flee
07:51 their homes.
07:52 Hoseaville has become their new home from Gaza.
07:55 Our correspondent Noha Razin has more details about the situation there at the moment.
08:00 Let's see.
08:02 It has been 17 days of this Israeli war on Gaza.
08:06 The situation is deteriorating.
08:08 Right now we are inside the Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital which is one of Gaza's main hospitals
08:14 in southern Gaza.
08:15 But this place became like a home for hundreds, if not thousands of Palestinian residents
08:21 who fled their homes from northern Gaza and also from central Gaza.
08:25 I want just to show you what we have here.
08:28 These are actually tents.
08:30 The people brought some fabric and they covered this area of the hospital and they are actually
08:40 residing inside it.
08:42 They are living inside it.
08:44 They are using the hospital's bathrooms as their bathrooms.
08:51 They are eating of what the people are donating for them because actually these people have
08:57 left everything behind.
08:59 These people left their clothes, their food supplies, many of their belongings and their
09:07 homes.
09:08 Today, Egypt also allowed a number of aid trucks to enter the Gaza Strip, 20 trucks
09:13 on Saturday, 17 trucks on Sunday, and today, Monday, we also have 20 trucks.
09:20 However, that's not enough for the needs of the Gaza Strip.
09:25 Also let me add that most of this aid will be distributed on people who are residing
09:30 in southern Gaza.
09:31 However, those residing in northern Gaza will not get any of this help because basically
09:37 the UN is not even operating in those areas.
09:41 Nur Harazin, Tirisur, Gaza.
09:44 And instead of a large continuous mondo in the southern border areas of Lebanon, after
09:49 the persistent Israeli bombardment and the response of the Al-Amey resistance.
09:53 According to the national news agency, villagers in the western sector from Ras Al-Nakura to
09:58 the town of Ramat and the lands adjacent to the blue line of Djer, denied under Israeli
10:03 flares and the over-light of reconnaissance planes.
10:06 The Lebanese Red Cross, in coordination with the United Nations Centering Force and the
10:10 army, pulled three bodies after Mina from Halta Heights in the south of the country.
10:16 On Sunday, Israeli forces shelled the Maron Plain and the Askar of Eitarum.
10:21 Israeli strikes charged at the Al-Marat area in the vicinity of Hula town.

11:21 For the woman's division was the closing of the day where the joy prevailed, not only
11:25 for the result, but also for the final podium.
11:29 The favorite and triple Olympic medalist, Mariana Pajon, the queen of BMX, won the gold
11:34 medal.
11:35 The silver medal went to the Canadian Molly Simpson.
11:38 And the third place on the podium went to the also Colombian Gabriela Boye.

11:49 I am still here giving it with all my heart, giving it with all my will and will.

12:57 In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, violent fighting broke out over the weekend between
13:01 M23 rebels and pro-government soldiers and armed groups.
13:05 Since October 1, renewed and intensified fighting has taken place between armed groups in the
13:10 Nahuatl province, particularly in the western part of the M23-controlled areas in Tlututu
13:16 and Mississippi territories and the west.
13:18 Twenty civilians were murdered and over 30 injured, while over 84,700 people were forced
13:24 to flee their homes, many of which are seeking safety at Ramononco bases.
13:29 The risk of escalated violence in the affected areas, including those hosting displaced persons,
13:34 remains very high.
13:36 Unfortunate population movements are to be expected to date.
13:39 2.4 million people are displaced in the north Tlututu province and humanitarian actors are
13:44 preparing to rapidly set up a response.
13:47 However, humanitarian access in the conflict zone is constrained by the ongoing fighting.
13:53 The president of Nigeria, Mohamed Basun, was shot in a coup at the end of July and accused
14:00 by the military of trying to flee.
14:01 "He is in Nijer with his wife and son and is in good health," said the FAP.
14:06 On Thursday night, the military regime in Nijer affirmed that Mohamed Basun attempted
14:11 to escape with his family and others, trying to take the Nigeria helicopters belonging
14:15 to a foreign power on the outskirts of Nijer.
14:18 On Friday, a group of Basun's lawyers strongly denied those accusations.
14:22 The French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his deep concern about the uncertain situation
14:27 of Mohamed Basun.
14:28 Since the coup that overthrew him on July 26, Mohamed Basun remains captain and refuses
14:34 to tender his resignation.
14:36 On September 18, he appealed to the West African Court for his release and the restoration
14:40 of constitutional order in Nijer.
14:46 An early 1,500 African migrants arrived on the shore of the Canary Islands this Saturday.
14:52 The rescue services of the Spanish Archipelago announced on Sunday that one of the boats
14:56 was carrying a record number of 321 people.
15:00 A total of 1,427 migrants arrived on the island in different precarious boats between Friday
15:06 night and Saturday on Sunday morning.
15:09 According to the emergency services, the migrants come from Sub-Saharan Africa.
15:14 On Saturday, a wooden drugged-out cannon arrived on the island of Vallejo with 321 people on
15:20 board.
15:21 According to the latest figure from the Spanish Interior Minister, the Archipelago received
15:25 23,537 migrants between January 1 and October 15, almost 80% more than the same period last
15:34 year.
15:39 In Japan, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida declared on Monday that he is preparing to take all
15:43 economic measures.
15:44 Among the measures his administration will take are income tax cuts for inflation with
15:50 the household and a tax break for businesses to promote investment.
15:54 In a speech at the opening of a new parliamentary session, Kishida said that time had come to
